"Switch!" Is the favourite of the guy who sits behind us. I feel at this point I should put a word in for our friend in UT3 'Hoof Guy'. Although his unmistakable cry ('HOOF!') is never a moan or a grumble- there's a cheerful undertone to it which makes it impossible to get irritated by. Whether I would say that if I was sitting next to him (whoever he is) is another question, mind.

I have noticed an increase in fans turning up in UT2 and UT3 with A4 printed tickets looking for their seats, and no idea where they are. They sometimes sit towards the back and insist on sitting down throughout the match right amongst 'the singers', and they get stewards involved, so they can sit in correct seat and not have someone stood up infont of them. The sooner that a good section of the Cheadle End is standing, then I'm certain the atmosphere will get a bit better. Be better if new fans or first timers went into other areas of the ground till they get their feet under the table or see what part of the ground suits them. Remember my first EP game where i stood in that small area between the old CE and the main stand. Not ideal but it helped to look around to find somewhere more suitable for the next game.

The sooner that a good section of the Cheadle End is standing, then I'm certain the atmosphere will get a bit better. This is a major reason for the down turn in atmosphere. I know there's lots of people who get a bee in their bonnet about people not sitting in the correct seats but again it goes back to the days of terracing, in yesteryear if you were inclined to make a bit of noise you'd head for the section of terrace with likeminded people & join in & if you just wanted to watch the match quietly you'd find somewhere else, all this sitting in allocated seats means you get situations like the above & the atmosphere suffers. IMO this situation has killed the atmosphere in the English game at league level, increased attendances bizarrely have added to the problem as there's now less or no spare seats for people to move about if they find themselves in an area that's not suited to them. I agree with Bredbury. A good section of the C.E. needs to be converted to standing. If a new increased capacity railway end ever materialises & offers more seating options to the fans then the club should definitely look into implementing standing sections in the C.E. I'd make a large section of the upper tier standing along with LT1 ('cos we stand anyway & anyone who tells us to sit get's short shrift )

Update on the folk behind me. At Madden from minute one, including the 'bald' stuff. When we got the penalty, my immediate reaction was 'oh no, not a pen'. To be fair, the worst they said to that was Tanto should have taken it. Hindsight, and all that.
When he scored the winner, and I repeat this verbatim - "He missed a pen, he's done nothing all game, and now everyone's singing his name, he's f*cking shit".
I was utterly delighted, but am going to ask the club to move me and my lad for the remainder, I reckon. It's taken the enjoyment away for me.

You are a better man than me, I'd end up banned and for about 20 minutes I'd think it worthwhile 🤣

The only reason I'm trying to hold my tongue is because we already had a bit of a row against Bradford at home. They were infuriated that someone called them out. I reported it to the club at the time and they 'sorted' it.

As fans we all have different opinions on players but whether or not you rate a certain player how can you not be happy if that player scores a vital last minute winner! To call a player 'f%@king shit' in those circumstances when all around you are are in ecstatic celebration suggests to me that these bell ends aren't County fans at all.

I much prefer players to prove me wrong about them.

I was in hospitality for the Tranmere home game earlier in the season, and therefore vacated my seat in the Cheadle end for the main stand. The atmosphere was very quiet and at one point Ben pulled off a great top corner save which I celebrated with a jump out of my seat and a cheer. The looks of disdain I got from the blocks around me anyone would think I'd stood up and slapped one of them........

Shades of 2000 and Wilbraham's injury time minute winner in the 4-3 vs Bolton (after we had let a 3 goal lead slip). Amongst the ensuing pandemonium in the WFCE (or "limbs" as I believe the youth of today call it) I'm sure I heard a dedicated detractor, in the midst of his own apeshÃt goal celebration, exclaim "you're still shÃt, Alby!"

Thats been the case though in all main stands since the first game i went to in 1954. Unless you were like the ones who went in there you found a part of the ground that suited you better even if you had to stand when you felt a bit rough.
