Hi all, hope you don’t mind me posting on your forum but i and three other Plymouth Argyle fans are visiting the north west on a family the same weekend as your up coming game against Morecambe and have purchased some tickets. What’s the best place to go and get a beer beforehand and after for a bit of atmosphere and a friendly welcome? Looks like we could be crashing a promotion party after your wonderful season. Same can’t be said for Argyle sadly. Hopefully we will get to see a bit of Sarce playing and a few goals.

The Market place is good for a bit of a crawl then onto the Wellington on Wellington Road then walk through the station to Edgeley, you'll be welcome in most places enjoy the day.

If we wrap up promotion on the day I suspect Bask, right outside the train station, will tick the atmosphere box!

What stand have you got tickets for? We are behind the goal in the Railway end. You barely get any rain up your way right? 😂

Pubs in and around the old part of town are superb. The market has Bakers Vault, Angel, Thread, not sure if the Bulls Head has reopened. Wander down the hill to the fantastic Arden Arms. Little Underbank has the Cracked Actor and Stanleys. St Petersgate Tap has lots of real ales. On Wellington Road, the Magnet is well worth a visit with 14 cask ales, plus lots of craft kegs. www.themagnetfreehouse.co.uk/

Close to the ground (opposite the back entrance to the station) the Old Vic is a friendly small pub with good beer selections. If it’s been a cold rainy day the fire should be on which will help you dry out!

As others have stated some good places around the market place & underbank, petersgate tap, The Wellington, Bask & the runaway brewery are good too. The pubs nearest the ground on Castle st. (Jolly crofter, Bobby Peel, The Albert, & Royal Oak) will all be full of County fans & are extremely cheap but be aware you'll be served in plastic glasses on matchday, The Armoury on the roundabout is another home fan favourite & you'll get your beer in a proper glass there. We also have a fan courtyard at the back of the Cheadle end that opens pre-match for beers & food (but plastic glasses again obviously). Enjoy your trip & apologies in advance if you get wet

Had a good laugh with a couple of Plymouth fans, way back in the mid nineties. Had a few beers with them before and after the match in the old Southlands where they were staying. Funniest bit was they'd bought new bobble hats for the occasion. When they put them on it was spelt "Plymouth Argle" 😂 Best bit was winning 3-1 👍

I’m a bit suspicious here.
Plymouth are fighting relegation. And suddenly this poster turns up with his mates.
They are on a covert mission to collect information on our team and style of play in case we meet next season.
Devious gits. Look out for cameras and rain macs
(Just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean that they are not out to get you)
Hope you stay up by the way. Brummies down.
