Think we need to be flexible. The Railway End isn't popular with County fans in winter and it can sell very slowly, even when the covered stands have sold out, unless we have a really meaningful game. Why not take the opportunity to make revenue, if the tickets aren't going to be sold to County fans. We might see other teams being more generous with our away allocations as a result too. The big question is when the development of the Railway End will start and will we completely lose that stand next season? They’re extending the DB stand by 600 seats first then working on the RE immediately after. I’m guessing if we keep the RE for home fans that’ll more or less cover it in the depths of winter. That’s if they get to start in early 25 as they’ve suggested. As mentioned elsewhere it’s all dependent upon when the planning permission is granted. If they're doing the DB stand first then I can't see them starting until the summer of 2025 at the earliest.

Phase 1b is doing the RE. You may be right but in the release of the plans a few weeks ago they said early 2025.

If the club can sell to home fans then they should; I'd rather a half-full Railway that our fans can buy tickets for as late as they need to rather than accommodate more away fans. I think we're going to end up with a lot of away fans in home stands unless we use a system that limits tickets to previous customers only. We need the new Railway End as soon as. And a new ticketing system.

We'd be the lowest then if we continue to use the Railway End ourselves. Yep, ours is 900 isn't it? Do you think for some of the larger followings we'll revert to giving them the Railway & a bit of the popside again? Let's be honest there were quite a few games this season where the Railway was sparsely populated. A lot will depend on how we are doing as well. Thing is the games against sides who need more tickets will be the ones most County fans will want to watch. Given the choice of cambridge or derby at EP most will choose the latter if they can only attend one.

Suspect they can start the build of the new RE while leaving the current stand in place. Essentially build behind it until they need to take the current stand out, which I imagine could be done over a summer, to hopefully limit the games impacted

If I remember correctly. It didn't take two years to build the Cheadle End. Nowhere near. It was started behind the CE steps and was finished in time for a friendly v City in the summer. About 8 months or so I'm guessing. Edit: Less than that. Done a YouTube and there's a game v Wrexham on Boxing Day 1994 with no sign. So the work would have started at the earliest in Jan 1995, and was ready by July.

Maybe if we build a stand on rollers behind the railway end, quick demolition, and then wheel it into position in the close season we could interest one of those engineering programmes on the Discovery Channel. Might attract a whole new fan base to the club

Even at Wigan where we get 4000 we'll probably put 800 on sale and release another 800 the day before which have to be collected by noon the same day.

I was rather hoping for the bigger away days for a pay on the gate method. Ceasing this mess about trying to get tickets!
I imagine that clubs like Bolton even will expand the away end if they thought they're was extra money to be made.

Do not know though if its us to blame or the opponent. Notts annoy me where they do not give the full allocation for a stand home fans cannot use. Puts me off attending away games being hearded into a smaller area than is necessary with fans insisting on standing for large parts of the game.

Should be easy to get tickets though for our favourite club if hopefully they come down.
