The flight might be £31. I can do £100 in the Albert. Dread to think what I'd do in Ibiza nowadays. Yeah, from looking at a few places we’ll do well to get away with less than £10 a beer and £15-£20 a cocktail. Mad just go mad and book a table and close my eyes when the card reader comes round. We went out the other night had a couple of small beers each then shared a bottle of wine, we blew 11 euros so stayed in last night and shared a bottle of wine which cost 1.40 euros, same country different world.

Here's an idea. Me and that mad b*stard from Ate Days a Week/Blackbird are over in Spain for the friendly with a few others. Fly out on the Wednesday, couple of days relaxing, we've then got the game on Friday afternoon, all good. On the Saturday afternoon we've booked to fly over to Ibiza! Fly out at 17:05, arrive 40 mins later. We've then got 14 hours there before the death flight home at 08:00 back to Alicante. Nowhere to stay, just power through in Playa d'en Bossa until early morning and then go somewhere open all night before back to the airport and hop back to Alicante. Rot in the airport for a few hours and then back to Manchester. It's booked, £37 each return. Too old for this nonsense. Straight to Ushuaïa for the night and back for the flight back. We stayed next to the club last year and could see the runway from our room so it won't cost much in a taxi. That's one of the places we've looked at, very easy option straight from the airport. Closes early about 11 but can then go into PDB and the bars around there and go big and into Hi.

Sounds like my kind of prices, where was this out of interest? We're half an hour inland from Alicante in a small town called Monovar but it's similar in many surrounding towns, a small beer is around 1.50 and a bottle of wine can be as cheap as 6 or 7 euros, the bar we were in is a bit old school and the owner often comes up with random numbers when you ask for the bill, as random as it is it always seems to be in our favour.

Pretty much the same here. I've never paid more than €8 for a bottle of decent red in a bar away from the coast though I can get a bottle of very decent red for €1.45 at Mercadona. €2.50/€3 for a pinta mostly at 5% or above ABV. It costs me €14 a year to tax my car too. Add in the 300 days of sunshine and do you think we'll ever return to Blighted? You two are more than welcome to come to us for a few days TRE & Mrs TRE. Daily fights to Murcia (RMU) from MAN.

Just gone up 10c to €1.45 a bottle. You're welcome. I may want you to do me a favour 😉

Had that many a time where my mum lives in Spain. Spent all day drinking & eating in a local bar then wobbled off at the end of the night completely forgetting to pay! Return the next morning apologising profusely in my very bad Spanish asking for the bill only to be given what appears to be a random number which is more often than not substantially lower than what I've consumed! More than once I've had to argue the toss with them & insist I pay more than the bill!

Cheers Malc, we will take you up on that at some point, just need to sort something for Luke, he won't go anywhere with his degree of ADHD even with meds, totally bugaphobic for one and its hard enough getting him to school, need his older brother/s to stay while we are away which takes some sorting at their age with work and relationships etc. We were hoping to retire over there ourselves at some point but it will take some doing!
