But the likelihood of that is so low. It's not worth the risk/reward. The point is less about who a player gets injured against (god forbid) but that the same lads playing 3 games in 8 days this early on in the season, many after their own injury issues, increases the risk. If the players can’t play three games in a week in August then we’re done. f*ck me. We had the same last season before we had loads of injuries. Our mindset now is to just write this competition off. We’ve done it every year we’ve been back in the league. It stinks. Do you just choose to ignore the interviews/ fans forum where he clearly explained where we were in terms of fitness/ minutes in players…? It’s not rocket science that risking players who aren’t up to full speed (which is still a lot of the first team who played on Sat) with three games in a week would increase the likelihood of further injuries.

We're threadbare and it increases the injury risk by the same players playing 3 games in 8 days. He's not just thinking about Blackpool. I’m sure he isn’t just thinking about Blackpool. But sending a bunch of kids out to get humiliated does no-one any good at all. Least of all the kids. Could have easily played some more senior players tonight. He’ll look a little bit silly if we lose at the weekend anyway. I won’t lose any sleep over this, it’s the league cup. But I don’t like the way we’ve approached it at all. Have you asked them that? And who says they are being humiliated? They're losing 4-0 to a side multiple levels above them in strength.

Absolutely no chance we'll make the play offs with our injury record. I'm more worried about the opposite end of the table at the minute. Give over. With our rate of injures we're more likely to finish in the bottom half than the top.

We couldn’t even play low intensity pre-season football without a million injuries - imagine what it would be like playing three games in a week at full intensity and commitment
Needs to be a full scale audit into our conditioning and physio teams because it’s not good enough. Maybe that’s already happened and if we were doing something wrong it will be months before the new regimen will rectify it.

Two of our last three promotions were built on cup runs. These games matter. I won’t lose much sleep over it, but really genuinely disappointed in the club for how they’ve approached this one. Massively needless own goal. were they built on this cup though or the Fa cup This next part isnt aimed at you just so i dont have to do another comment We didn't have half the squad out injured this early into the season. Last season a few people mentioned that Wootton didnt have a pre season so he wouldn't be as good (pre season is big) weve not had a good pre season and 5 players didn't play more than 15 miniutes of pre season For me, get players back fit and then mid table finish and maybe an fa cup run which isnt for another month and abit Not really the point whether it’s this particular cup or not. You don’t know when those moments will come. The club is *far* too meek and inclined to feel sorry for itself on injuries. That might be harsh, but sometimes harsh things need to be said. You don’t see other successful clubs or managers whingeing every five minutes about injuries. If you’re unhappy with your injury record, do something about it. Either sign sturdier players or change your training methods. Sending a bunch of kids out to get humiliated by Blackburn helps no-one. Least of all the kids who are supposed to be the future. It’s piss poor.

You could also make the case for getting more minutes in the players legs, anyway this one is written off and it'd be the same if we'd lost on penalties.

It's also not all about maximising chances for Blackpool, it's about workload principally. There's a decent chance, if the fixtures had been the other way around, we'd have made lots of changes for Blackpool. Not as many, I admit, but it's not as a simple as you portray.

We have managers in the premier league whining about the best athletes in the world struggling to play three games in a week so I don’t know why it’s being scoffed at that our manager in league one doesn’t want to do that with a wafer thin squad which needs to cling on until at least the international break
