I think Challinor has got this one wrong I’m afraid. We’re light on numbers, I get that, but what’s the worst that can happen if we play a few of the better players we do have available? We might lose at Blackpool? So what? There’s a decent chance we’ll lose at Blackpool anyway. Likewise there’s a decent chance we’ll win at Blackpool anyway. I think we’ll give League One a really good crack this season. I actually think we’ll make the playoffs. But I don’t for a minute seriously think we are going to be promoted. Nor should we, these things take time. Should’ve taken this game more seriously for me. We've 12 matches before October and hardly any fit players 100% right decision tonight for a game that wins f*ck all prize money, got to get off good start in league ensure we aren't teetering at wrong end of table that's priority it's a stacked league we have to get early points on the board

This is bleak. Closing the Popside to home fans rather than sticking half the Blackburn fans in the rain really helped the atmosphere didn’t it, Tom Mahon? Fml 2-0. It’s men against boys and even the senior players look lost. Not been impressed with Hughes in the slightest. Hughes only seen bits obv but looks a big, lead footed lump, not sure he looks like a player they said could play right of a 3, Akil Wright looks 3-4 times the player would rather kept him, only first impressions but not impressed at all Not necessarily a straight swap though (albeit the talk was that Hughes could cover anywhere across the back line). Hughes could be more of a replacement for Byrne and Mingi/Onyango replacements for Wright. Then Connolly the cover at LCB? I was surprised to see Wright go and thought he'd be a perfect utility squad player for us.

Camps played very well when he came on. Onyanga looked good when he dropped back into the back 3. Thought the two wide cbs we had in the second half looked promising too. I’ve said my piece on Hughes. Think he looked poor. This is not me saying I think he’s a bad player before more people start because I haven’t made a judgement on him yet- but he did have a bad game before coming off injured. Blackburn fans really over egging their win here. Were squad numbers in their 40s and 50s not a clue? Well done lads, your pretty strong Chanpionship side beat a bunch of League One kids. #scenes #limbs With the exception of Onyanga there’s nobody who’s started tonight who I think have put themselves in contention for starting on Saturday. Maybe Fevrier. I reckon we’ll be unchanged bar Onyanga in for Bate, either in midfield or pushing Mingi up. Chally said Bate should be fine for Blackpool.

I also think it's ludicrous that we're in this position in our second competitive match of the season. Our squad should be rested, fit and all fighting for minutes to shake the rust off because they're raring to go after a long summer off. Instead we've got new signings injured before they've kicked a ball for us and it's such a shit show that we've had to send a team of 16 year olds out to take a walloping

An embarrassment injury apparently The only thing bruised was his ego.
Fair play to the young lads for carrying on and not going under.
I thought Camps led by example second half as a senior player. I think he could have his best season for us, he and Bate spoke the same footballing language on Saturday. Lets hope they line up together in the middle of the park at Blackpool.
Camps has probably been the player of, or most improved of, 2024 so far. Long may it continue.

No problem with the result...But the stewarding in the Upper Cheadle end was a disgrace tonight. Stewards demanding ticket checks every time you went to the concourse, doing tickets checks on people mid game and threatening season tickets holders with bans for standing. Appaled.

Felt more like a pre-season game than a proper game really, and can’t be too disappointed. Glad just to be back after being on holiday for Cambridge. Thought Onyango looked like a decent player, and keen to see more of him in a proper game. Fevrier lots of fun to watch too, and Camps really improved things when he came on. I also thought Hughes looked poor, even before the injury, but again, not really a game on which to judge him fairly. Of the kids, Mapengu and Okeke looked the most promising I thought. People talked about putting Okeke in the first team but looks nowhere near ready to me. Can totally see why Mingi and Onyango were given the nod at right back on Saturday. Yep Okeke has very little in game knowledge, not expecting him to know the game inside out but just in game intelligence is severely lacking

Enjoyed the view from the Danny Bergara for a change. Haven't sat in there for a few seasons.
I'm seeing a lot of moaning about UT3 again. Didn't notice any difference between before and after the drum was taken away from that stand.
Also, as an aside, just read that the lad that organised the fan marches (not Dave, the pyro ones) and had controversial views on Mo Farah has picked up a stadium ban for a few years. Anyone any idea what's gone on there?

Yep Okeke has very little in game knowledge, not expecting him to know the game inside out but just in game intelligence is severely lacking Okeke needs a loan, hopefully we can get him out to the NL or NLN again after the FL window shuts and we may have a RB loan in. No point him sitting on the bench.

LCB in a 3 is very different to LCB in a 2 where being left footed and having pace matters a lot less.

Steward in main stand was great tonight, he let me leave at HT
