Chinese New Year is Friday 31st Jan, Year of the Horse apparently. With this in mind and the impending visit of the Chinese businessmen associated with Stockport Tiger Star (our sister club out there), there was talk of a return visit of our team to China 10 years on. Quote from the Boardroom statement of 21st July 2013 on COWS: "We did some good business on the night and we were also delighted to hear from Steve Bellis who brought along a Chinese delegate who has had a long association with Steve since the days of Stockport Tiger Star. Steve did an incredible job in building our brand in the Far East and made County's name more popular than Manchester United in the west of China. There are already plans in place for another tour of China, a tenth anniversary return visit. It is very early days but this is a potentially exciting partnership and we will keep you updated with any developments" Read more at www.stockportcounty.com/news/article/2013-07-21-boardroom-update-933880.aspx#H21R8cPp0CCaITUR.99So hoping that this is discussed as well as investment and either way a tour gets arranged and goes ahead. We need more Chinese wearing County shirts County on Chinese TV there again imagine! Imho China could be huge commercially if approached right and kept up Incidentally the Express mentioned the defunct Stockport Tiger Star ; is that correct, if so surprised they are not still going?
