Good stuff, thanks for posting it. There are some nice memories there. I found myself mentally switching the words Stockport to County and Dan to Danny a lot though - force of habit I suppose!

Cheers. The references to Stockport are because the article is not for a County audience, per se. With regards to Dan, that's just a direct transcription from the original interview.

I wasn't criticising, I just hardly ever think of the club as anything over than County, and it seemed funny to think of Danny Bergara as Dan Bergara as well, almost seems a different person altogether! Though I appreciate those are quotes from Phil and he obviously knew him as Dan, so that's fair enough.

Not yet bought the book, but read your article and inspired me to get one bought...as I just have. It will be the first book I have read since reading The Hobbit at Mile End in 1985 !

Shop have sold all their copies, there are a few left on dannybergara.co.uk or on Amazon.
Waiting to see if Waterstones are taking it before decision on reprint.
PS It will be available on Kindle soon too :-)

You'll probably get more joy from the Stockport manager. They took both versions of SNATM. 35% commission, I think.

As per the Yellowboard, apologies for the scandalous plugging here, but Phil Brennan did a brilliant interview on Danny and The Man From Uruguay with me just after Christmas. It's now gone into a student newspaper in York, and it's a great read. Phil speaks really well. The Man From UruguayGood well written article. We done!
