I am very sure. From what I have heard the shareholders who were putting money in are now fed up. I know they have bailed us out on more than one occasion in the last 12 months by providing funds. They are getting sick of it and this is why McKnight is trying to get some revenue up front with the ticket offer and the raffle for the roof. There are then supposed to be three consortiums with a real interest, not including the Chinese. The group of County fans, that is supposed to be involving SS & JG. A group of Welsh men - not sure on any more detail over this, and then some people from Yorkshire. How close or far away they are I'm not sure, but we are truly skint and I think it could just be whoever is first past the post gets control of the club. What this means for shares and the greater detail I'm not sure, but I would say I am 99.9% certain the above is going on. Thanks Jack. Are the shareholders who've been putting money in part of the SS/JG group do you know?

There is a problem with one of the shareholders refusing to budge though. If he doesn't change his stance, the SS/Gannon thing won't get anywhere.

Michael Rose on Twitter Michael Rose @michaelrose3 40m Hearing rumours that Jim Gannon has put a group together to run Stockport County, including himself to be Director of Football. #RIP #SCFC Wow, a footballer showing a lack of class on Twitter, who'd have thought?! His spelling is good though, in fairness. Whatever happened between them is a while ago and didn't need bringing back up now. Surely it's better to experience winning promotion at Wembley with a manager you don't like than never at all?

If he comes back it would be massively disrespectful to Alan Lord, IMO. The guy has inherited the disaster that Ian Bogie left us with and turned us into a side that can compete at this level (albeit inconsistently). I'd much rather give Lord a couple of seasons to see what he can do. Jim has had his chance. Plus it would mean yet another season where we've got through three managers. This ridiculous revolving door has got to stop - it's one of the main reasons we're not even a professional football club anymore. I don't think Lordy really wants the job.

Agree with that. But when you said it's like we were top of the league, No but i know where you're coming from, I just thought that we would of stayed up if we had him for the rest of the season. After all 19 days eariler we were all looking at the play offs. (after the Hyde Victory). The thing that annoyed me that most is that it was a 5 year plan, and he got a year?
We weren't looking at the playoffs at all. This revisionism p*sses me off. Jim was great first time around. No doubt about that, but when he was sacked we'd gone on a run of results that would have seen fans calling for anyone else to be sacked. We lost to Hyde on Boxing Day too remember! That win we had was our first win in 8 Games in the league. We won 3 of his last 15 games. Yes, he was working under ridiculous conditions and I'd have forgiven him had we gone down under his stewardship, but don't for 1 minute think we were anywhere near the playoffs. I find it astonishing how some people manage to just find the negative. The day before Gannon was sacked we were just seven points behind the eventual champions (and with a better away record) with over 20 games left to play. Even after the Mansfield game we were shorter odds for promotion than relegation until the idiots stepped in again. despite the idiots we would not have been relegated had he not been sacked and we would probably be looking at the play offs this season playing in front of around 4000 each game. unless something changes toute suite we will be playing in front of 1500 and the spiral will continue to gather pace.

That's an incredibly biased way of looking at it. Here's another way: we were in the bottom four. We were getting regularly beaten at home by sides with smaller budgets than we had. The team were getting booed off the pitch almost every game. For what it's worth, I think if the board had stuck with Jim and made the funds available to him that Darije / McKnight clearly had available, then I think we'd have stayed up. I also think if they'd sacked Jim and made those funds available to Bogie, we'd have stayed up. But either way, to pretend that the first half of last season was anything other than a massive disappointment is simply re-writing history. Gannon made a number of mistakes in his 2nd term here and eventually they cost him his job.

exactly.
A lot of people seem to have forgotten just how bad we were this time last year, and Jim showed no sign of turning it around with the players he had, making talk of the play-offs ludicrous.
That's not to say we'd have been relegated had he stayed and properly backed, but had he not made so many errors in the earlier part of the season, it wouldn't even have been an option for the board to consider, no matter how broken down their relationship was at that point.

On a purely football performance basis it was premature to sack Gannon IMO but we are not party to the other aspects of running the overall business. However, what is indisputable is the absurdity of the decision to bring in a Swiss/Bosnian (Serbian?) young coach who had no knowledge of English football, inadequate local language skills and had never managed outside a mainstream league framework. Maybe a talented guy in the wrong job at the wrong time. This was the final straw .........IMO.........
