We will probably never win it, but a replay at United, Arsenal or Tottenham would make the club at least a million quid in revenue. Bournemouth and Brentford should recognise that, with their history. Seeing as we have never had to do that in the past then why all of a sudden is that going to happen. Those who are good at stats then how many times have we played a top flight team in the cup and how many have we took to succesful replays. Remember under the new system we could have had wins both at anfield and goodison and not defeats at EP. We haven't, but similar clubs to county have. It's not just about us.

A strong statement from the club, I'd be happy for them to support a boycott if that's what other clubs opt for.

I'd be giving the FA until the end of today to make a statement saying they'll 'pause and discuss'. If they haven't worked out how big the bollock is that they've dropped by now, you can just throw it on the pile of reasons they're not fit for purpose. If they fail to do so, clubs should immediately be looking to take this a stage beyond strongly worded statements. Boycotting the competition should be top of the list of threats.

Goodness times have changed quickly haven,t they. Brentford and Bournemouth were once seen as clubs we should be like but now because of one decision that might not affect us they are weasels. Some have gone OTT about stuff before on here but this tops the lot. All this for a competition i,m happy to predict we,ll never win and you,d think the premier league has banned full time pro football below their level via the FA or made it a closed shop for life. We will probably never win it, but a replay at United, Arsenal or Tottenham would make the club at least a million quid in revenue. Bournemouth and Brentford should recognise that, with their history. Exactly .. f*ck Brentford. They've had a couple of seasons up there and now think they're billy big bollocks. I reckon most of their fanbase would also be against this that the FA are trying to spin.

An excellent statement summing up everything.
Surely the FA can't ignore the number of statements coming from the EFL clubs.
IMO clubs should threaten to withdraw from the competition if the FA fail to respond. If enough do this it will devalue the competition. It just shows how out of touch the FA is with clubs lower down the pyramid, where a cup run or replay can give financial stability to a struggling club.

What extra games are these clubs like Brentford , Palace and Bournemouth playing anyway? 8 fewer league games than the rest of the FL and many non-league clubs, they're only in on two cup competitions (anyone else likely to make at least FAC1 is in a minimum of 3), both of which they get to enter in later rounds than non-PL teams, and their chances of being involved in European competition are slim, at best. All on top of the vast sums they get from the PL to help get a squad together (which they use to its full extent when they drawn at somewhere like Cambridge away in the 3rd round).
The whole thing's a joke.

There's an article on BBC Football 48 mins ago in which the FA claim all parties agreed to this and discussions have been going on for several months. Also there will be extra tv revenue given to EFL and non league clubs as more matches will be televised. Trying to justify their decision now they see what a clanger they've dropped.

Nice and strong. Well played to whoever wrote that (and decided it should go out).

The EFL statement seems to be in a direct response to today's FA statement. It addresses a number of points they raised.

It's time to announce boycotts. So many lower league clubs and non league clubs would surely go along. Just needs the wheels to be set in motion. Look what happened to that Super League.
Every club with their name against it, those clubs where their names on it, their clubs names will always be clouded in shame.

17 out of 24 League 2 clubs have made a statement so far.
Will be interesting to see if FGR do. You'd think Dale Vince might be against replays due to the environmental impact.
