What an utterly stupid decision.
Only benefits the greedy league.

Shameful, apart from the history and integrity etc of the competition replays have made a massive financial difference to a lot of lower league clubs

Pandering to the Prem clubs players play too much yarn despite them having hundreds of players they can select from

What they should do instead is say if you're a premier team and you draw against lower league opposition, then the other side automatically goes through to the next round. No replay then.
It might make them actually play their strongest teams so they don't end up only drawing.

I'm beyond fed up of the PL. It was a shit idea in the early 90s and it's only got worse from then onwards.

It's ok, because the EFL and NL are going to recieve a suitable increase in the money they recieve each season from the EPL to distribute to their clubs to make up for the scrapping of replays...
As with all walks of life, the rich clubs just get richer, the poor clubs just get poorer.

It was only to be expected. Guessing they'll soon follow other european countries & play each round mid week. The whole competition is now worked around what suits the Premier League clubs, & more so, moaning foreign managers who aren't used to playing this many games. Think the initial suggestion was for replays up to the 3rd round, then straight knock out, but obviously they decided to go from the first round instead

I didn't like Man U winning the game, but I took some small pleasure in them beating Liverpool in extra time of a game that would have gone to Anfield if the likes of Klopp didn't cry like babies about replays. Losing to Man U in the Cup in his final season, and doing so in extra time that shouldn't have been there, probably wasn't in Klopp's script. Boo f*cking hoo.

Another reason why I'm not bothered about ever getting to the PL. It's a club I have no interest in being a part of.
If they're that bothered about fixture congestion, kick PL teams out of the League Cup

I know its a source of income for lower league clubs and as such I should be against this... but for some reason i'm not that bothered.
I kind of like a tie to be decided on the night, there's already too much football in the season. The quantity of injuries we're seeing now are insane and I think anything to lower the amount of football played in a season and increase the quality is a good thing.
Unless it's a small club playing a big club the attendences are often awful for replays. For every Bolton replay there's an Aldershot replay and that was a horrific night of football in front of a paltry crowd. Even when we beat League one Charlton 3-1 in the replay there was a pretty shite attendance of 6K there.
If there's waning crowd interest in replays you can't really blame them too much for scrapping them.

"The FA Cup is our biggest asset," said FA chief executive Mark Bullingham.
Bullshit....ingham.

The Auotoglass Trophy /LDV Vans ect ect..... has been watered down from a very thin format to a joke The League cup shouldn't have any Premier teams in it in my opinion Now the FA cup has been watered down to suit the bigger richer clubs I wish the big 6 in the premier would F*ck off to a super league and give us back the formats we all love
