Two poor sides. Fully expected three points. The failure to win was down entirely to how badly they played. Funny how people view Things so differently. I thought we were good value today and I actually enjoyed the game. Thought they were similar to many sides at this level and the one above. If plan a does not work there's no plan b to turn to. Big lump of a side who will quite possibly lump their way out of this division. Me, I'll take how we played today every time....

Lost me there. Is that your view or is it lifted from elsewhere? I've no idea which team it's about or who it's referring to. Who's 'we' or 'they'? It's all over the place.

The BBC commentary said County's defense was all over the place at times not picking up, not tracking back.
But we won so people tend to forget what we did badly.
But then I wasn't there.

Telford's manager was interviewed on Pure after the game and he was the same. Blamed performances of individuals for each goal, blamed the penalty taker for having it saved, blamed his strikers for not finishing chances, blamed Tunnicliffe's marker for not tracking him.
Can't put my finger on why but I'm not fond of Telford.

I thought they weren't bad at all. Better than most of the teams we've played. They had a mix of very tall and quite small. I think they just caught us at a bad time (for them). We were pretty much at full strength today and although I reckon we're still pretty vulnerable at the back, we're starting to look like we might just creep into that top 7 or 8.
Under Lord we've picked up 15 points in 9 games. Not amazing, but a huge improvement on what went before. That's 1.66 points a game. If we'd started the season on a similar basis we'd be 7th now.
If we continue picking up points as we have, 1.66 a game, that'd give us pretty much 47 more points. Add that to the 16 we already have, means we'd finish on 63.
Based on last season, that'd have placed us in 9th, 12 points off the play offs.
So if we are to mount a challenge of any sort, we need to keep improving and turn that 1.66 points a game into more like 2 points a game. 2 points a game from this point onwards would give us 72 points. Based on last season, 72 would get us to 7th, 3 points off a play off place.
Based on all that, it'll take a huge achievement to get out of this league this season.

I thought "Telford forum" And "big lump of a side" kind of gave it away as to what the post was about. I'll try harder to more Specific in future.

Totally unexpected result today but I'll always take 3 points. Yes possibly we caught them on a bad day and if we played them a few weeks ago we may have got tonked. However its an improvement.

The big thing for us was having a fit squad to pick from. Al should play that starting 11 next week. Still a few players off a good squad

I thought Liam Watson came across as a bit of a knob in that interview. We can all point to errors when goals are conceded. They were comfortably beaten by a better team, that's why they lost and that's it really. I think it was more comfortable than it looked as well if we'd cut out the desperate defending as if we're clinging on v Real Madrid. We were 4-1 up against Telford!

I was impressed with Jones. Hopefully he'll improve his woeful kicking as he gets fitter. Lord commented on how it was good to have someone vocal.

Not a Ormson 'hater' just think you should never change a winning team, besides I think Jones looked comfortable today. Was'nt at fault for either of the goals.

Not an Ormson Hater either but now I think he has some serious competition (ok one game but hey he did well)

Will be interesting to see what decision Lord makes next week goalkeeper wise.
Having competition in that department is always a good thing though. I think Ormson needs a bit of time out the firing line, so I'd personally stick with Jones for Oxford City next Saturday.

Does that all make sense? It does to me. Makes perfect sense to me as well. I'll trust your maths but basically we've no realistic chance of making the playoffs this season. A top ten finish will be quite an achievement considering our start. You also have to bear in mind that we have played two more games than six teams and one more than another 10.
