Anyone who thinks government corruption is a fairy story needs to do some digging about on historic child prostitution. Absolutely sickening and the royals are clearly implicated too. These people in power are being given an inch at the moment. When they take a mile it'll be too late. That ship has already sailed I'm afraid, in my humble opinion. When you get Prince Andrew who can openly nonce his way around the underage girls of Hollywood, throw a half baked, unconvincing, and ludicrous interview at the media, and basically everyone moves on...I think you have to accept that in society, if you have money, status and influence, you can do what the f*ck you want, to who you want, where you want, and when you want. And there's nothing that plebs like us can do about it.

I mind much less what Cummings actually did and much more what a bunch of tw*ts him and his government take us for, as exemplified by their response to it (I should say it came as no surprise, but that made it no less appalling). They, sadly, are probably right to do so. I'm not sure what the answer is.

That should worry everyone. But I reckon 90% of the people in this country are as thick as mince and wouldn't be able to think their way to a four point Scrabble score. I sometimes wonder if this is all a big experiment in Stockholm Syndrome to establish how far a general public can be taken before we respond. Perhaps that's why they spent generations disarming us all such that when we do, as a society respond, we have nothing to respond with.

Did anyone out of interest see the Gove interview on LBC yesterday.
He starts off by lying - "I've often driven to test my ability to drive"...
Then the most comical thing is he fricking realises how absurd he sounds and that he can't carry the lie through, so strategically withdraws.
Really...really quite incredible stuff.
This is the new age of politics. Like, when Donald Trump attacks other people for lying we really are in a neo-Goebellist period of propaganda...."Accuse your opposition of that which you are guilty of".
It's pretty much the end of reasoned politics in both countries for now.

Yes I did see it and flicked channel to something else quite quickly though, the driving comment did it for me - pathetic, I think we are stuck with Johnson and chums for some time sadly.

Or they're all really clever and it's me who's thick. I'm exaggerating of course. But sometimes, and i admit being a bit stupid for even reading through a Facebook thread, I'll read through a debate and just think "Jesus Christ, I totally despair". And hey, I'm not the brightest bulb in the basket. No common sense. But some of the stuff people write, and the manner in which they write it just...speechless. I'm just a bit depressed with it all. I know I'm being unreasonable mate. Really, I do.

He puts out some wildly accusatory and conspiratory tweet about mail ballots for the election; Twitter flags them as not true and provides a link to facts about mail ballots and then Trump accuses Twitter of being 'fake news'. He even claimed his free speech was being affected by it. It's absolutely f*cking bonkers.

Great post Mozzer and Bigmartin very accurate but as TRE has said when he has locked down two other threads "Again done to death in many threads, all had our say" and I couldnt agree more you guys and with TRE!

But it's not been done to death, because we've moved on from Cummings himself, so the topic continues for those who wish to engage...
