but the problem is when would it be the right time. When the number of new daily cases is low enough to confidently say we've got a grip on the virus & can isolate new outbreaks. When there's still several thousand new cases every day you can't do that.

Lockdown measures have been easied far too early as so many people have flooded the beaches this weekend leaving a mountain of rubbish and toilet paper everywhere. Quite disgusting. If Dominic Cummings can do it so can millions of others.
Cannot see football be played in front of crowds for awhile. I hope I am wrong, but my own belief is that people won’t want to sit close together, even if clubs are able to sit them 2m apart. A lot of us are still vulnerable and it only takes one idiot to be out with the virus and sneeze which could affect all those seated within twenty feet of the perpetrator. Then the virus spreads and before we know it we will be back in lockdown.

I've had a mild flu now for months and my wife is convinced I have the virus. I've done everything I can to keep myself to myself. If I have it, I'm not idiot. But, like I say, I agree with the core of your message.

I had a mild case of 'flu a couple of years ago. I came home from work feeling "cold-y", hugged a radiator, faceplanted (almost literally) in my dinner, didn't eat a bite, went to bed with a raging fever, and slept for most of the next 4 days moving only the 4 or 5 steps from my bed to the toilet and back. It's possible you're like this. But I doubt it if you're still functioning normally (well as normal as possible in these times). 🙂

Look at the beaches and the parks. A lot of people not in the higher two risk categories won't care. Especially when it comes to things like goal celebration pileons and hugs.

With all due respect to yourself Martin, you are doing the right thing in not spreading the virus by self isolating, there will be someone in a crowd, not intelligent or bothered, who goes along for the ride and infects the group they are in. The core of a sneeze can travel very far. In your case I hope you will feel better soon, if not call 119 for a test kit. Good luck. Stay home, Stay safe, Stay well and most importantly Stay Alive. County NEEDS YOU!!! We are one big family we MUST try and stay together for the sake of our wonderful club.

there will be someone in a crowd, not intelligent or bothered, who goes along for the ride and infects the group they are in. that may be seen as the problem is playing football with crowds. a few infected folk turning up at games and infecting others. think in the past we have all gone to games where we felt no where near 100 per cent and dragged ourselves out of our sick beds to go. been told more than once that if you are well enough to go to County you are well enough for school/work.
