Trying to watch the bridge on Prime, they are taking the piss with the adverts π€¬ another fee on top to get rid, bad enough when they hiked the price to start with. Started to watch Mad Men on Amazon but gave up because of the ads. Just so intrusive - they popped up at random points, mid scene, regardless of what was happening in the story. It was a pain. Gave up and bought the series 2nd hand on DVD instead. Old school but it works for me. Anyway, I'm not a prime subscriber at the moment. I always feel slightly grubby when I do occasionally subscribe.

Watched 'The final - Attack on Wembley' on Netflix the other night. About the Euro's final in '21. Didn't realise quite how bad it was at the time but seeing the cctv footage on show it was something akin to a zombie apocalypse movie! I know coming out of the lockdown restrictions played it's part with people wanting to let off steam but I'll never understand the mentality of someone launching a full beer can high into the air amidst a throng of your own fans without thinking of the potential injury it could cause to some unsuspecting person it may hit? I'm all for a good knee's up & getting a bit raucous but there were times during some of this footage where I thought sometimes we really are a nation of utter bell ends.

I get my moneys worth on the deliveries but no chance I'm paying more, did the same as you with Sons of Anarchy and Supernatural, can often pick them up for buttons.

Not seen it but will add it to my list, always struggling to find something worth watching on there.

Iβm enjoying the re runs of War Walks on the BBC player. Richard Holmes on various battlefields explaining the battle and the history around it. There are about 8 episodes on Thank you for this. That's fixed me up for later today I absolutely loved Richard Holmes. He was absolutely everything about a military historian that I like. A little bit quirky, looked the part, immensely knowledgable, engaging and entertaining. I used to be close friends with a very similar guy called Ian Daglish. Did the most wonderful battlefield tours over in Normandy. Wrote a number of books about British forces in WW2 including three really successful books about Epson, Goodwood, and Bluecoat. Anyone interested should try to get hold of copies. Sadly, if anyone remembers that light aircraft crashing at Barton about 2010-ish, Ian was piloting and died in the crash. Ian DThese guys bring this history back to life. They amaze(d) me then and they still do now.

Canβt do it as wife is very poorly.
Hoping to do jump onto Arnhem(Ginkel) this September.
A fair few Para veterans involved.

As a Netflix newcomer, is there anyone who canvince me that Squid Game lives up to all the hype? It looks bang average to me so far and I'd rather not waste more time on it than necessary π

It looked like a rerun of the hunger games/battle Royale to me Plotless and characterless. No depth. Basically, lots of people go into different kinds of quirky death games. Some die. And in the next episode people go into different kinds of quirky death games. Some die. And in the next episode...

It's not exactly like that, there is a fair bit of flashback to how some of the contestants ended up in the game which works quite well. I enjoyed it.
