We'll need to suss this out properly when games come around. For me, there should be one match thread that starts some point in the week with predictions/team news etc and is followed through until Saturday night/Sunday morning with score updates, match reports etc. Makes everything nice and easy and is good to read back through in the future. It won't happen, obviously, but that's how I'd like it to work. Yep, best bet by far. Seems to be a competition on Marionsboard for who can post it first. There’s usually 3 or 4 just saying ‘Goal’ Cool. It’s up to us to make it happen then! Don’t want to be too militant about it but hopefully it works that way.

I look forward to you merging seventeen ‘GOAL’ threads. We can do match threads on here. Setting those up and editing the title as goals went in was the reason I was first made a mod on here years ago.

Fantastic signing. I wonder if those who got mardy about losing Dimaio and Osborne might feel a bit better now?

Really good signing there were 3 names i know for a fact would have been here last summer if the takeover hadn't took forever to go through those 3 were, John Rooney, Richie Bennett and the last one was Jordan Williams we now have 2 of those 3 This isnt meant as a negative as these experienced players are probably whats required to get out of this devilishly difficult league its certainly a lot harder than league 2, but slight worry in the medium to long term that the profile of our squad is largely 28-31 year olds so there is no real resale value in these players which is fine if we are in a position to foot the bill and accept that when giving 3yr contracts out to these players, but I would like to see a few more in 21-24 bracket that can come in ready to do a job and potentially be a more saleable asset in terms of a sustainable model [br Jim has already stated he intends to bring in some players to develop in addition to his first choice players

Those who have been there and done it and those who can grow as the club grows. It’s the ideal set up and he’s the ideal person to implement it.

Never saw the hype with Dimaio personally Dimaio is an exceptionally skilful footballer. He could turn into a very good all round creative player. He’s not there yet though and it seems to me that he thinks he is. Exciting to watch without ever really making anything happen in my eyes. I wish him the best though and hope he’s able to make something with his raw talent.

Good on the ball at times not so good off it, if not fed directly games seemed to pass him by, best of luck to him though as he does have something.

Rooney is definitely somewhat a marquee signing, and a real statement of intent about what we want to be. At 29, you'd expect him to be at the peak of his game too. It's exciting where we seem to be heading.
Without wanting to come across overly square though, I only hope we maintain that sense of growth and momentum with such high turnover. Squad balance can be delicate and difficult to get right. I loved the Stockport County that brought in rough diamonds and turned them into better players, and I hope just because we can afford the finished product, that we don't lose that sense of player development.
Perhaps it's because it's new and different, but I don't yet know how to love a policy of splashing the cash. On the one hand, it's refreshing and exciting to see JG have the resources to be able to sign who he wants. On the other, the Gannon production line is a thing to behold. It's what makes County, County, and wherever we end up, I hope we maintain that. It'd be a real shame if we didn't.
I also hope our spending is, at its core, sensible.

Yep. I don’t think this is the long-term strategy but they want us back in the league ASAP and know how difficult it is to get out of the NL with only one auto promotion Slot.

We are currently operating very much how we did when Danny took over, he was given funds to build a team quickly and did very well at it, Mike Flynn, Jim Gannon, Mick Matthews, Neil Matthews etc all cost a pretty packet but most delivered on the quality immediately.

[br Jim has already stated he intends to bring in some players to develop in addition to his first choice players Yep he’s repeatedly said that he will have a mixed profile of players. Those who have been there and done it and those who can grow as the club grows. It’s the ideal set up and he’s the ideal person to implement it. So far, the only ‘can grow’ players we have are Minihan, Thomas, Keane & Bell. We’ve then lost our biggest ‘can grow’ asset with Festus now at Hull. Could well be a case of making sure we get the marquee players first, and looking at the younger ones later, but right now, I think Kitching in the only one who isn’t at least late 20s.
