Yes not all the players in that era were complete dog shit but over the years they will all be forgotton i,m afraid as fans quickly forget the level we were at. Those who spent a similar shortish period with us back in better days will be more easily remembered. I disagree. I think, as Gibbo says, there were some players who regardless of ability would always put in maximum effort and helped turn the tide. Obviously the NLN promotion team will always be remembered but the players who turned us from the absolutely garbage here for a payday team to hungry young players like Mulhern will be remembered for a long while. We’d have kept sinking if it wasn’t for that shift in attitude within the team

So, in the words of Fred MacAulay… Football fans are so fickle…

I'm surprised he's still only 26, always thought he was already 23/24 when he was with us.
Think the conference north champions side will always be looked back on with credit - helps that it was pretty much the same 16 every week, and quite a few went a bit further with us
Hinchliffe Minihan Palmer Stott Duxbury (Cowan) Keane Walker (Turnbull) Thomas Warburton Stephenson (Osborne) Mulhern (Bell)
it's the 'good lads' from earlier NL days that'll be lost in memories - Lees, O'Halloran, Stopforth, Scott Spencer etc.

Brad Jones has retired from playing... One of the worst debuts I’ve ever seen live. He was awful and looked terrified. He’s had quite a career though. Can’t be many players who were so utterly hopeless for county but forged a more than decent career

Can’t be many players who were so utterly hopeless for county but forged a more than decent career I remember him starting at Old Trafford for Liverpool and getting sold a dummy from 20 yards out and being left wildly out of position for the third United goal. 8:30 onwards

Brad Jones has retired from playing... I thought he did that before he came to Edgeley.

But fair play to him.

Is it me but as every season passes by he looks more like a lot of lads you see playing on a sunday morning for really bad pub teams.
