Johnny Margetts scored twice for King’s Lynn in their 3-1 win against South Shields. He’s banged in 7 goals in 5 games now. Sign him back up!

Didn't know where to put this but here's Carlton pleading for his job back Yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of Carlton’s greatest moment, so we forgive his pretty much anything else surely?

Didn't know where to put this but here's Carlton pleading for his job back Of carlton's team there were a lot of players that went on to do really well. Rob Jones Jim Goodwin Jon Daley Ricky Lambert Albie I've said this before but I was really glad when he went but I've softened to him over the years. The players liked him and he picked some great players. Perhaps it would have clicked down the line. But things always look different in hindsight.

He didn't help himself by claiming we'd go up as Champions straight after relegation, from that point any struggles would be seen as a disappointment and opened him up for criticism (would probably be a bit different now, but that's his personality I suppose). He also didn't manage the Player-Manager role well in his first full season, became a distraction and his performances on the pitch suffered (in the relegation season he was superb as a player, but the pressure was largely off after his few games when relegation became pretty much a certainty).

Mind you he wasn,t the only one who expected us to bounce back. Many fans thought the same and someone at our last game there at norwich got a shock when he asked me how we,d do next season when i said just avoiding relegation. The others i heard were in palmers camp for reasons i could never understand, him as manager and our owner.

Apart from albie the names you mentioned did buck the trend of players doing better away from County than they ever did for us. Usually they never reached the standard they did with us both then and more recently.

Didn't know where to put this but here's Carlton pleading for his job back He didn't do himself any favours where he kept referring to us as being young and inexperienced but never seeking to address that balance. Ben Burgess was a huge flop despite bagging 20 odd goals with Brentford in same league the year before and we were in serious jeopardy of back to back relegations before a mini end of season revival. Also remember the game away at Cheltenham where he got sent off at 0-0, we looked so much better as 10 men and won 2-0!

We didn't lose Luke Beckett that first day of the season, the injury happened near the end of the Port Vale match in September just before Palmer was sacked, for most of Palmer's 8 games he had Luke up front and got 4 goals out of him so he can't really use that excuse.

Also we stayed up that season so if we were fourth from bottom when he was sacked we improved after he left. It was the following season the wheels fell off. He’s also in the past tried to take credit for playing Lambert as a striker, which he never did. Palmer is a character and seems a sound bloke from everything people say about him, but he’s an unreliable narrator of his own past.

Youngster Jid Okeke scored for Hereford today.
In the same league Danny Lloyd, Richie Bennett and Alex Kenyon also scored today.
