Leslie Thompson & Yoann Smith from around 2008 could sneak into an obscure 11 I reckon. Johann Smith was one of the worst loanees I've ever seen, still to this day I'm convinced he was a ringer.

Marvellous Marvin Robinson and Joe Dolan. Joe Dolan scored a header at the Cheadle End against someone like Bournemouth, I think. Yep, 2-2 draw in Feb 2005. He had two spells with us and was dire in both. Not having him as an obscure player though, he's a go-to for comedy teams of the mid-2000s. Gavin Strachan, Tony Vaughan or Daryl Smilie, I'd accept.

If someone else posts them and you can’t remember their position or the era/manager they played for then they make the list.
Johann Smith is the only one that fits that profile so far for me.

So close, but yet so far. He could definitely feature in a barely memorable 11. I'm not really sure who I'd put in my forgotten/barely memorable XI. My main currency is obscure players so nobodies like Dean Crowe, Jordan Hadfield, Darryl Clarke, Yusuf Coban, Michael Hampson, Tom Eckersley etc are as recognisable, to me, as the likes of Alun, Flynn and Francis. There's probably a slightly less explored sweet spot where they've played 8-12 games. Not one-hit wonders, but those who just drift into obscurity. Aaron Cole, Kyle Brownhill, Lee Stevenson, James Hooper, Tom Aldred. The only name that I can’t really place is Michael Hampson, maybe Aaron Cole. Kyle Brownhill feels not obscure enough to me but I don’t know why.

Windsor was the final youth system product who had a few games in early non-league Carney was ginger Meaney was someone we picked up as highly rated youngster who never got started here, but who played against us a few times in NLN Payne played a couple of times at the arse end of the Alan Lord era after all hope had long since left the building Ben Chu-Say was a youth teamer who seemed to be around the club for ever, but never actually played Amari Morgan Smith won the Just Search competition, appeared for us in the final game of the 07/08 season, and went on to a decent NL career Gilchrist came in to stop Chorley having him Hirmer was the last player to play for County who was older than me. Symes was injured on his debut and never did anything for us, but I remember he looked half decent against us Coban was similar and only played for about 3 minutes
