Once you get over half way, things will pick up. A few money raising events such as Hatters Half and a few others to go alongside and that total will be blown away. You might need to have a plan for what to do if the money goes over the total for the statue. What would you do with it DH? My suggestion for what it is worth would be that it goes in the Gaurdian Fund.

Looks like the campaign is gaining traction. The bids from the Gleeson and Hennessey "Make Us an Offer" promotion are going to the Danny fund too and they are looking healthy at the moment.
Let's get to the £50k before we think any further though!

Big Kev Steps Up to Take Danny Bergara Statue Appeal Close to £7000 ! Yes, there was another magic moment involving all time County favourite and super hero Kevin Francis , when he pushed the Danny Bergara Statue Appeal almost to £7000 with a magnificent £100 donation earlier today. `Close to £7000` did we say? Want to be the one that sees us beyond £7k and onwards? Do so here:- www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/dannybergara?utm_term=bzbaGAmQN

Can you utilise the pods that Help the Hatters used to have in the ground for the player budget?

Can you utilise the pods that Help the Hatters used to have in the ground for the player budget? We are looking at all possibilities of raising money....bucket collections at games and of course collections /raffles at do`s , so keep an eye out.

Chris Beaumont Chips In….Backs The Danny Bergara Statue Appeal ! `Truly Deserved For a Great Man`! were Chris`s words as he joined the campaign to site a statue of the `Man From Uruguay` outside Edgeley Park. Chris thrived in a County shirt, his scintillating attacking play neatly fitting into and enriching numerous County teams in Danny`s fondly remembered time in charge at Edgeley Park. Please join Chris`s in support of our campaign:- www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/dannybergara?utm_term=bzbaGAmQN Stockport County Supporters Cooperative and Help the Hatters

The very honest answer from me is I haven't donated because I don't think there's any chance of getting near £50k, unfortunately. I know that's completely self-defeating and if more people stopped thinking like that then there'd be a much better chance of us hitting £50k, and I really hope it does, but it's a huge number. £2k raised in almost three weeks shows that, unfortunately, it hasn't really captured the imagination either which, given Danny's standing, is odd. He was never my hero and I only had a season of him but recognise what he did for the club. I think if the initial announcement had been made and a series of events/ideas were launched at the same time (big fundraising dinner, portion of marathon takings, merchandise etc) then it might seem a bit more achievable. And I know you've mentioned all these now, but it comes across like they're afterthoughts. I'm sure they're not, but that's how it comes across to me. If there'd been the opportunity to buy some smart Casual Connoisseur-designed t-shirts/tote bags, or Over the County Culture pin badges etc on the launch day then I'd have gone in for that, no problem. Same with any Make us an Offer shirts. I'll already have what you're auctioning, but I'd probably still throw another £150 at it. There's been decent coverage, but not a huge amount of reason to donate, beyond putting £20 on the Just Giving. That will get you so far, but it's all the stuff I've mentioned above that will get you further. And sadly it looks like it's going to be needed because, as others have said, 71 donations after three weeks isn't a flying start and £50k seems an awful long way off. I think they will reach £50k, but it won’t be easy. Once over the half way mark, I hope the doubters such as your good self will put your shoulder to the wheel too.

Based on the past week, it looks promising. This is all about momentum. Is there a crowdfunding approach that could be adopted? Donate £20, thank you on the Co-op website. Donate £50, as above plus a minor perk. Donate £100, as above plus a t-shirt or something. Right up to £1000 where you’d be given the option, which hopefully nobody would take, of your name as a ‘premier donor’ on a plaque near the statue, something like that?

Where is the 50k figure from? It's the price that our favoured scupltor has quoted for the statue and also the plinth.
