ZFA last played regular football end of Feb (2 starts then Nov before that), Cannon end of October and Duffus end of November. I'm not expecting any of them to start Saturday. Think we may see Cannon and ZFA on the bench though. Going to wait until DC's interview before updating my team prediction on here though. I don't anticipate any of them starting Saturday either, although of the three I think ZFA would be most likely given Kitching's recent poor form and him and DC knowing each other very well. True but I think it will be Hippo at LWB.

Hartlepool fan on Angol: We’ve played him LB/LWB/RB/RWB even spells at centre back and never looked out of place, proper dependable player. Not as attack minded as MSH at Stockport but a solid defender all the same. Now that sounds promising and a great option to have on the bench at the very least.

I'm suprised we've not got a player in who's favoured role isn't RWB considering that was the biggest concern leading into the day due to MSH's injury but Minihan can do the job.
But three good players who we're not tied down to long term who will hopefully all be itching to impress and be part of something very, very special. All three should be buzzing to be here and will hopefully have an impact in the coming weeks.

Yeah I think it’s either Hippolyte or ZFA at LWB until Rydel returns. Would be surprised if Kitching made the 16 in the league again if everybody stayed fit.

Another signing that DC has worked with before. With that in mind, do you think the influence of Simon Wilson is less than what we actually think?! I just hope there is harmony in the camp... Thoughts? Only a recent development that - I read a few months ago he's had his wings clipped. Also heard he was kept well away from the recruitment of a new manager decision. Reading between the lines there's a deliberate decision within the club to reduce his influence as much as possible.

True but I think it will be Hippo at LWB. I tend to agree. I think he looked good there against Aldershot, certainly good enough LB for that game so you would expect LWB to suit him more. He's also fresh from midweek and I can't see us not playing a back 3 unless DC has spotted something. I agree that ZFA may be ahead of Kitching. In theory, we'll have 4 LWBs when Rydel is fit but Kitching covers LCB, ZFA RWB and at a stretch LCB by the sounds of it, Hippo CAM and we can always play 2 in a 4-3-3. Good to have some versatile players in the squad.

Can we play these lads against Crewe in the Cup on Tuesday to bring them up to speed?

Good summing up on him and was a regular starter till the new manager came in where he only seemed to get game time if their was injuries. Lots would have had him as a regular starter but he seemed to have gone down the pecking order. Did see him on the right hand side on one of their live streaming games but i was not impressed as he.d do anything to avoid using his right foot. He is a cut above kitching in his defensive duties and will get forward if the opportunity is there.

For what it’s worth chaps I was slightly disappointed ZFA never really got much of a look in under Graeme Lee, he’s more than dependable cover at left back/LWB and he looked good playing left centre back in a 3. Played the odd time at right back when we’ve struggled but he’s massively left footed so don’t expect him to cover there too often. Sadly for Zaine he’s just not as good as Ferguson. Hope he does well for you though, on the plus side DC knows him well

I think it's more a case of DC saying who he wants and SW making the approach and doing the negotiations, leaving DC to get on with the football.

I think it's more a case of DC saying who he wants and SW making the approach and doing the negotiations, leaving DC to get on with the football. Exactly how it should be, manager know how he wants to play, DOF will support the scouting arrangements of players that fit manager criteria, DC has the say and SW comes in at a later date and goes away to see if it's doable within the constraints of the budget None of this SW signing players for himself/squad, he signs them for the manager
