I like it I just don't get the negativity it's like people don't want want anything good. I don’t get why you felt the need to apply the Tory tactic of implying anyone who disagrees with you is a sociopathic Luddite? Of course I’m glad there’s been an attempt to restore some of the facilities there used to be at Grand Central. But the car park *is* really ugly, buses stop at the back of the development not the front so it’s unwelcoming for public transport users, its location means it overlooks little plazas of shuttered shops in the evening like something out of an apocalypse movie, and some of the touches like the benches and trees more or less down the middle of the boulevardy bit where people walk are poorly executed. It reminds me of a review I saw when BMW introduced their flame surface design philosophy, that went something along the lines of, yes, the outside is an affront to the senses, but the interior is really nice and you can’t see the exterior from the driver’s seat. I love going, but it’s always go, do whatever it is I’m doing, then leave. Nothing about the development makes me want to spend the whole day/evening making my way from bar to restaurant to cinema and back again. Sorry. No apologies necessary it's a discussion, I agree the car park isn't pretty but at street level Redrock is attractive and over time those empty units on Princess Street will fill up as footfall increases, 10 years ago Stockport Centre was deserted and the council has managed to turn it round, the job's not completed and not everything will be a success, I just think the negatively needs challenging.

Open up the river. It'll never happen because of the cost, but it would make Stockport better.

Most public transport users will approach Red Rock from the perfectly acceptable front, having come from the bus or railway station, or Mersey Square.

What's going up on the old snooker club site across from the town hall? Another apartment block?

What's going up on the old snooker club site across from the town hall? Another apartment block? Talking of snooker clubs, then shame nothing has ever been done with the old snooker/bingo building at the top of hillgate/A6. That's a lovely old building with decent sized area downstairs too.

Just recently it has had a tidy up and a lick of paint, don't know what's happening with it though.

Went out to the town last night for the first time in ages and was taken aback with how busy it was. Stanley's, produce hall, bakers, Thread all packed out. Great atmosphere as well.
I've been out on Saturdays in the past and it's been really quiet so good to see things flourishing.
