Not according to flash scores, doesn’t list him as a taker for any. unless they have another Warburton Interesting as the football sites don’t show it, but would be a surprise to have 8 spot kicks and him not take one.

Gateshead beat Solihull on penalties in FA trophy. Bad week for Solihull at Wembley. Warburton came on as sub, flash scores not showing all penalty takers yet but with 8 each it’s a fair bet he’s taken one. Shades of County losing there twice in a week. Is this something only us and them have in common.

There's lots of unhappy Rochdale fans over on FaceAche about the down grading of their Academy. Had a read of the club's statement, there's a hint of irony in them not wanting the ladder to be pulled up from them when in the past they were more than happy to pull the ladder up themselves and plunder any academy they felt so inclined to plunder!

They only got to 'plunder' our Centre of Excellence because we had to close it down, after the Premier League blackmailed the Football League into accepting EPPP. The clubs to blame for that are slightly closer to home than Rochdale.

It wouldn't have been good for anyone if other clubs had ignored the players coming out of our academy when it closed would it? This is a very strange criticism to make of Dale

Unless they're shutting down their youth system then it's not the same situation

Unless they're shutting down their youth system then it's not the same situation They are pretty much shutting it down and it’s because they can’t afford to operate it. Think that’s pretty similar to what happened at County.

They took plenty of local lads when we were on our arse although it was very good of them to spot Ethan Pye who is destined to be a seven figure fee on his departure from the club if he continues on the trajectory he's on.

But there's no rule forcing them to do so. Plenty of League clubs also closed theirs around that time, too. If you want to enjoy them not having the finances to keep a youth system going then go ahead, but Dale weren't anything to do with ours. What were lads like Cannon supposed to do, not find a new club?

What were lads like Cannon supposed to do, not find a new club? There was no rule forcing us to (IIRC) stop ours when we did either. As I’ve said both decisions are down to finances or lack thereof. Of course it’s tough especially on the players/kids affected. The point being made though is Rochdale are now saying the rules should be changed on the financial support of academies and more specifically are saying that it allows other clubs to cherry pick from them, something they themselves had no qualms about doing in the past.

The clubs to blame for that are slightly closer to home than Rochdale. My point is that they are bemoaning the situation that they find themselves in and think the rules should be changed, when they have taken advantage of others in the past that found themselves in the very same situation. My point isn't why they have found themselves in the situation.

Seems like theres been a lot of movements in the NWC leagues which on paper, look odd. Sure I've seen Stockport Town have gone in to a Midlands league which doesn't sound great tbh.
