Didn't know there was both a Wythenshawe and a Wythenshawe Town... I think Wythenshawe are the old Wythenshawe Amateurs who have been around forever. Wythenshawe Town seem to have had a bit of investment/growth in recent years. My mum used to live minutes away from their ground, you could always see the pitch from Altrincham Road, was a very local set up. But it's all enclosed now, a lot more prominent, new floodlights etc and they seem to have come up a few divisions quickly. They beat Bury in the play off final last year.

Interestingly, Wiki says that Sacha Lord is Wythenshawe FC's chairman.

Didn't know there was both a Wythenshawe and a Wythenshawe Town... The former used to be Wythenshawe Amateurs, but recently dropped the Ams suffix (presumably after turning semi-pro)

A glance at the league tables of the Northern Premier Div One East, West & Central (eighth tier) reveals a few names from our not too distant past. Bradford Park Avenue and North Ferriby in East, Corby Town and Worcester City in Midlands and Vauxhall Motors, Stalybridge Celtic and Hednesford Town in West. Plus Rushden & Diamonds from the Blue Sq days and Bishop Auckland and Brighouse (and Ossett United, formed out of the ashes of the old Ossett we played) from the cup games. Also a few in the Northern Premier (seventh tier) too, as you'd expect. Rushden & Diamonds is AFC Rushden & Diamonds, the phoenix team formed after the original went bump. I think the new entity started at county league level, and crowds dropped to 3 or 4 hundred - a far cry from 2 or 3 thousand at Nene Park in the 3rd Tier. And isn't Ossett United a merger of Ossett Albion and Ossett Town - a big attempt to combine fanbases, get bigger crowds, and take the town up the leagues - sure I remember seeing or reading something about it. And of course Hednesford were on tv a couple of weeks back drawing with Gateshead in the FA Cup, in the glory that is Keys Park.

Sam Minihan too at Southport. And Jordan Keane. Sam Minihan, Jordan Keane and Danny Lloyd in the same team! I'll be looking out for them this season.

Could never understand why ossett never did that years ago in a small town between dewsbury and wakefield. Possibly age old rifts have been forgotton and common sense prevails. A similar thing near me is happening with silsden and steeton both playing at the same level with a by pass road between em.
