Gutted to be missing this one, first one of the season too.
My prediction is an early 1-0 lead that we’ll hang onto, Reid to score it.

Saturday’s team selection will be interesting. I feel that Hinchliffe MSH Kitching Fryers Collar Rooney Croasdale Madden and Reid deserve to be picked, so that leaves Barclay Hogan and Palmer to fill the remaining two positions. Palmer, I would put in for his dependability and goal threat. Barclay also possesses a goal threat and plays well, even if asked to play out of position. Hogan is our captain but makes simple mistakes. So my selected would be Hinchliffe Barclay Palmer Fryers MSH Collar Croasdale Kitching Rooney Madden Reid. Subs: Ross Fish Raihky Whitfield Walker
If Cardwell is signed then it will be harsh on Reid as I would play Cardwell for his hold up ability and Reid would drop to the bench and I’d leave Ross out all together

Which may mean Palmer is not the preference.

The one thing I would definitely do though is keep Reid in the starting XI. A lot has been said of how his confidence can only have been crucially boosted by the midweek goal. Maybe a couple of teeth missing at the hands of their goalie but he's still worth a start for me. The lad from Halifax has said their striker is small. Which may mean Palmer is not the preference.

Cash? I'll be emptying my shrapnel jar and paying in 1ps, 2ps and 5ps... hope they get fed up counting, and I get in for less than a tenner. Apologise in advance for anyone behind me in the queue. Careful not to annoy em. If you throw a load of shrapnel at them they may refuse entry as their is a legal maximum limit in 1p.2p and silver coinage you can tender. mind you looking at all prices except the 21 quid adult price they might need some change. I,m certainly against the cashless society in the same way that i,m against lack of card payments for those who prefer it. Its not as if they will be sending folk away as it will be a sell out.

Has Barclay posed a single threat on goal so far this season? Has he crossed the half way line in open play either.

Charging £21 instead of £20 is utterly ludicrous. The time it'll take people to fish around for a pound instead of just handing over a £20, or for the operatives to count out £4/£9 change will see the flow of the queues slow right down and probably means they need to employ more stewards to keep an eye on the people outside. Just charge £20 and have done with it.

I would have thought it was an advantage to the other team, as we have often found, when an opposition striker is taller than our defence.

Not always as plenty of defenders are more happy marking a big immobile lad than the small quicker type of striker.

The opposition are massively helped by our gormless tactics of lumping it up to forwards who are half the size of the defenders though

And as long as he doesn't break his nose again. Actually do we know if any of the outfielders fancy themselves in nets? I'm pretty sure it's an FA regulation that one of them has to (ideally a game-looking five foot seven full-back who the number one Jersey looks comically oversized on).
