I assume that is a joke picture? If not it could make Stockport County the laughing stock of English football if it was ever to get into the thickness of social media. I don’t imagine I’m the first person ever to spot that a famous brand of football analysis software shares it’s name with a range of ironing board covers, so I wouldn’t worry too much! I wasn't so much thinking of the ironing board but rather his position and what seems a small stool with no back; plus the spaghetti junction of wiring. I can see if he continues with that, he will sooner or later be off work with a bad back.

The problem with SCFC is that there are too many “bought in” ex-FL players who think that they are the star - they need to be moulded into TEAM. SR says that the statistics show he improved the team. B*locks to that. Jim would have got us promoted - SR didn’t so he failed.

Also, this is now the longest match thread we've ever had overtaking Eastleigh away from February (that had 902 replies). Probably had more replies before the game than the play off game v Hartlepool. I guess if we win at Weymouth on Saturday then that will be one of the shortest match threads.

Its mental how much busier this place is after a defeat or poor result than after a win. Saturday was 15k page views down on the last home game (0-3 v Yeovil), which was the third busiest day ever on here (the day Jim went and day after are by far out on their own). It’s always the same. Defeats are good for business on here.

Palmer and Hogan every time for me . Plus Keane . I would also play Minihan behind MSH every time . JJ a big loss and we are still trying to adjust there on the left side . Barclay possibly needs some time at Chorley on loan I thought Wrexham second half were the worst side we’ve played which for once is quite refreshing Yes, the more I see of our massed ranks of defenders, the more I think that a settled pairing of Hogan and Palmer remains the most secure option. Hogan's positive showing Saturday (after a couple of rusty early moments) has been much commented on. I also thought Palmer was a rock-like presence. The greater urgency about our play in terms of getting the ball forward maybe helped him also; he never looks happy to me shifting it side to side across the back.

Whitfield was for me the major plus point. His energy dragged others into the game more. I wouldn't be surprised to see him rested though because, after all, it's a squad game. Can't figure out what is wrong with Barclay. He has a good pedigree - its possibly due to playing in a system that is alien to him. Disappointed with JK and his "decent start" comment. JK has yet to ask a searching question of Simon Rusk since his appointment. What does working hard mean?. What other options have we got when a system isn't working? We've not really clicked yet and we took advantage of a weak Wrexham who tried to shut up shop and defend what they had yet the woeful performances (including the first half on Saturday) have been forgotten. If they feel that the fans can be placated with the occasional decent 45 minutes they are on deluded. Be interesting how we approach Weymouth on Saturday who played a 4-5-1 againest us last season. Collar and Croasdale as 2 DMs with Whitfield twiddling his thumbs? Rooney striking a pose behind Madden and Reid. I wouldn't be surprised. I'll be both amazed and disappointed if Whitfield doesn't start this weekend, and in the same advanced position and with the same licence to exploit space/run into space (with and without the ball) as he showed on Saturday. He was absolutely the difference between the two sides, and clearly revelling in the role- lifted the team with his constant energy and bursts forward. My favourite moment was when he sneaked up behind one of their defenders and just nicked the ball off his toes and dribbled off with it.. Beardsley used to do that all the time but you rarely see players at our level with that speed of thought, technique, and impish flair. As someone else also said, his s*ithousery was pretty top-notch also.

It's a very welcome win, especially against a team expected to be up there, even if they were disappointing overall. But we're barely in second gear. We'll need to play better, and for 90 minutes, most weeks to have any chance of challenging for the title. Just wonder if this playing well for 90 minutes is now a thing of the past. Seen a few non County div.2 games live and streamed live. All teams are like us at our best. One good half and a poor second or vice versa. Its a good job we love the game as what we are being served up feels second rate to me with 45 minutes entertainment with the rest good old game management. Like seeing a 90 minute film padded out to 3 hours.

Just watched the close up of Rydel’s goal and for once Reid miscuing his kick led to it falling for Rydel to score.

Reid's been awful in most of the last twenty plus games he's played in Can't understand why it's taking so long for the club to find one or two more strikers Mark Stott said championship in seven seasons .well no chance when we're signing players like Collar Reid Newby and Walker .and Barclay's looking like Jordan Fagbola

Barclay I haven't seen enough of yet to form a view.. but suspect the system the defence has been set up in may not be helping him, same as it hasn't helped any of them. Accepting for those others we've too rarely seen their best of late... but writing them off en masse seems harsh (and also would be costly and disruptive, Vs the alternative of working with them/ improving them and their contribution to the team).

We’re quite obviously short of a striker and you’re not a very good judge of a player if you think any of those above are good enough for the level above. From Saturday’s complete exclusion and today’s signing looks like Rusk had already written off Walker and Newby himself. Reid is only playing because we only have two fit strikers and Collar and Barclay wouldn’t be making squads if they were inherited Gannon players rather than ex Brighton ones.

looks like Rusk had already written off Walker Bonkers to have signed him again a month or so ago for the second time in his 9 months at the club, if that's the case.
