I assume the decision wasn’t made based on 30 minutes playing in 35 degrees though SiLomas!! He played more than that though that day, but could see his positional naivety within that, done by two long straight balls and whilst he had recovery pace to get back he didn't show enough to look like he would challenge in our team, generally as a trialist you don't get much chance to impress and it's rare any are signed but he looked on face of it short of required standard to displace any of our current defenders

He’d have been coming in on loan. i thought he was released by leeds. Nvm then, still wouldn't have gotten close to playing and a position we dont need to work on

Cue, I saw Nixons Patreon …… It's my favourite recurring joke on here. Funnily enough, I saw My Favourite Recurring Joke back in the day at the Ritz. especially as I have a mate who was actually at the lesser FTH in 76 to see the pistols, and yes he went on about it all the time.

What is the most likely line up Saturday. Between injuries and fluid playing styles it is a complete mystery to me. Will have a punt on:
Ben Knoyle, Horsfall, Pye, Touray Collar, Bate, Bailey Diamond,Woots, Barry
Not sure on fitness of Fevrier, Mingi and Adamarola or if Addai has the keeper’s jersey.

As I’ve not got a clue what formation/line up etc we’ll be playing, for the reasons Mattyovrio has mentioned, I’ll answer a slightly different question: if you were appointed manager today (god help us), what formation and playing style would you go with, and what business, if any, would you be asking the recruitment team to do?
Formation: 4-3-3, switching to 4-2-3-1 where needed (games where giving Bate more time on the ball matters more than a sustained press).
Playing style: high pressing, intense, with the ball moved forward quickly whenever possible, generally through short passing and quick interchanges. A combination of how we played with Barry and Tanto up front last year and the National League title-winning season.
Transfers: my only definite addition would be a physically dominant midfielder who loves a tackle, mainly a DMC but ideally able to play box to box too.
Then possibly a young RB on loan, depending on when MSH is back. A striker on loan if Mellon’s done his ACL (but not if it’s an MCL or similar). If Hamilton or Luker became available I’d love them as loan additions, but not hugely necessary at this stage.
Sell Powell if he’s not interested. Loan out Stretton and the youngsters.
Means the final squad looks like:
GK - Ben/Addai
RB - Knoyle/MSH/loan CB - Horsfall/Hughes CB - Pye/Connolly LB - Touray/Rydel/Adamarola
DMC - new signing/Mingi MC - Bate/Camps MC - Collar/Fiorini
RW - Fevrier/Bailey CF - Tanto/Mellon/Wootton LW - Barry/Diamond

One of them will have to be RW from now on!

He did of the injuries his was one that looked least bad and hopefully precautionary if he ain't fit then Mingi play RB in a 4 or perhaps look use Fevrier in a 352 at RWB but hoping Knoyle is fit as he be crucial player this season whilst MSH regains fitness and I'm not sure Okeke looks anywhere near ready for L1

Fiorini looked like he was back running on one of the training photos last week. He's only been out a couple of weeks so wouldn't need to build up too much more match fitness, I wonder if he could be back?

Hinchliffe Knoyle Horsfall Pye Touray Bate Collar Camps Diamond Wootton Barry Addai, Hughes, Mingi, Fiorini, Bailey, Fevrier, Okeke Don't mind going back to diamond but I'd prefer Bailey on left of that instead of Camps for balance with left footer and also Touray, Bailey and Barry have a great synergy amongst them Think Camps could play tip of the diamond and then use Diamond as the impact sub
