Nice of Peter and Abbey to give him a hand.

No point in picking a keeper as your captain, because it really needs someone who can communicate all over the pitch. I'd have thought Camps may have got the gig.
Teams have keepers as captains for a few seasons now since referees were asked to use captains to calm players down first before they take actions. We saw that on saturday with the cambridge no.11. Doubt a ref would sprint 70 yards down the pitch to bring the keeper into action. As for Bate getting the job i wonder if Horsfall didn,t want the job again or DC might have thought it might have affected his play as i cannot see him getting replaced in the side if he plays like last season.

What makes you say Horsfall "didn't want the job again"? Not aware that he was offered it previously - or even this time - and Paddy was the obvious candidate last season.

I also noticed that Wootton was given the captain's armband when Bate went off, so Horsfall isn't even vice captain. The captaincy will be based on lots of stuff that fans never really get to see.

Happy never misses a chance to say what a model pro Woots is. Looks after himself really well.

I think he said "I wonder if Horsfall didn't want it again" - He was captain at his previous club....

Anyways - all speculation and I'm backing DC to have made the right call.

Not a rumour but a discussion
Would you take Apter now?
Talk around a few blackpool fans is they reckon its best to get the money now than keep him at the club while they dont play with wingers. Seen a couple of people saying between 250k and 400k with a sell on (numbers are obviously just fan guesses)
I know hes appreciated/liked by a few on here

That said, we could see it as an investment. Assuming Mellon is out for a bit, Tanto and Wootton competing for the central slot, Stretton out on loan (when we have numbers), Fevrier (also back-up RWB), Barry, Diamond and Apter for the wide slots would be tasty and not ridiculous. If he's a longterm target and he becomes available at the right price, go for it. Still think the priority has to be a RB/RWB though.
