Agree re: squad construction. Not like I’ll be hugely upset if we don’t sign a midfielder, as long as we play a midfield three and use Mingi/Connolly there when we need more of that enforcer type. But if we’re looking to add a player of real quality to upgrade the first team (as opposed to fairly short-term cover at right back) that’s the position I’d be looking at. obviously highlights dont tell you the whole gane but really liked the type of player mingi is in midfield. His long legs just seem to make it so he was there before the opposition even from behind. Hes got the height and the speed (from what ive seen) to play there in league 1. His on the ball abilty will need abit of work but thats fine especially as a 23 year old "destroyer" type midfielder. Bate will be the deep lying play maker (the one who control's the whole game once up to speed of l1) and collar can be the energetic number 8 - attacking midfielder too Mingi and connoly Bate and camps Collar, fiorini, bailey and powell although powell could be called upon to play the bate/camps role like he did last season for a few games Bailey would currently be my back up right winger as id start barry on the left with diamond the back up and start fevrier on the right. Bailey for me Is very much a left sided 8 to get the best out of him. Will link up well with Touray and Barry to bring the best out of them.

Need someone in on loan rather than another full time signing for RN/RWB position. Knoyle and MSH will both be back eventually and one in to january would be ideal. Agree with that Timbers - MaSH should be back ore-Xmas and we will know before Jan window closes if he is going to stay fit. Knoyle should be back by the end of the window too. So a quality loan would work at RB/RWB until Jan. However, we should be looking at succession planning in this position. Both are players are good enough but have been v unlucky with injuries. We should be looking at an upgrade for the position on a permanent basis for next season.

Really interesting insight. Summarised his interview on the match thread. They always impress me. Not just his demand for more when JK gives him the usual lay up when we win but his tactical insight or snippets. He convinces me he knows his plans a lot more than other managers of a similar level and we're in good hands. The point he makes re putting an excuse out there and then answering it himself is something I'd never noticed before but it's really smart, how can a player go into his office for a moan about something he's already answered

Think he’s got the quality to be one of the best attacking full backs in the division. Accept there are huge questions over his injuries, but feels like he deserves the chance to get and stay fit this season before he’s written off. Though agree next summer will be a big decision.

Knoyle didn't have a record of injuries until that awfully head injury and getting injured following his return was just unlucky, I'm pretty sure he'll put this behind him and come back strong, Macca's brilliant but he is injury prone so if we use him sparingly as back up to Knoyle I'm sure we'll be fine, obviously if we can find better we should but that's the case across the pitch.

Not a rumour but a discussion Would you take Apter now? Talk around a few blackpool fans is they reckon its best to get the money now than keep him at the club while they dont play with wingers. Seen a couple of people saying between 250k and 400k with a sell on (numbers are obviously just fan guesses) I know hes appreciated/liked by a few on here Rob Apter played in Blackpool’s 4-0 win tonight and had two assists for their last two goals. Blackpool probably won’t part with him without getting their valuation! I’d go for J. Luker on loan from Luton, if possible.

If VAR can interfere in a second yellow then surely it would have to interfere in all yellows? If this was his first yellow and then he got a second yellow which was deserved then what? Just another example that VAR isn’t the magic bullet some seem to think it is.
