Talk that Arsenal are monitoring Pye's progress, nothing imminent like a bid but casting their eye over him Not sure how true that is, but in the summer I did consider requesting odds on him getting an England cap. He's incredible, and undoubtedly will play at the top level. Be nice if they could include him as an overage player in the under 20s game we are hosting.

You don't throw out England caps because their team is hosting the game (and making money from it). Pye has got loads of potential and has gone from strength to strength but he's some way from proving that he'll make it to the EPL for me (I'm not saying he can't though).

As good as Pye has been, I think talk of England caps is a bit daft at this stage. He’s a young lad, learning his trade but is nowhere near the finished article.

He's a cracking young player but he was caught out a couple of times yesterday when their striker got goal side of him, he grew as the game went on though.

I'm not saying it's going to happen next week, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility for it to happen in the future. Left sided defenders are at a premium. Branthwaite was at Carlisle not long ago as an example.

Alright, you've convinced me. He's f*cking dog shite. That's the spirit. Then you can never be disappointed in life! (For the record, I think I'm one of the more positive ones when things are going badly. Maybe I just always expect things to level out at some point!)

Huge difference though between a full England cap and a cap at under 20 level.
