As good as Pye has been, I think talk of England caps is a bit daft at this stage. He’s a young lad, learning his trade but is nowhere near the finished article. Huge difference though between a full England cap and a cap at under 20 level. there is but pye is 22 in November so if he was to get a cap it would have to be for the first team

Yes. Against Curzon Ashton? IIRC he played in the Stoke friendly alongside Best. Doubting myself now 😀 He Definitely played against Fort Lauderdale who had Gordon Banks in nets & i'm not sure whether he turned out against Zeljeznicar Sarajevo as well

I'm not saying it's going to happen next week, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility for it to happen in the future. Left sided defenders are at a premium. Branthwaite was at Carlisle not long ago as an example. I'd like to think that any move in the future will be structured with a considerable sell on clause included so that we really get the benefit if he kicks on and gets a big move. That sort of thing could go a long way in funding some of the ground redevelopment or new training ground.

Mk dons apparently will be getting £3+ million due to celtic selling a player to brighton.

Well someone has to get one and even if he is the finished article now he,s going to have a long career in the game even if we do not go up and never gets the chance of playing or signing for a club higher up. Thats nothing to be sniffed at and anyone on here would have swapped positions with him at his age.

Regardless though, he could still play for the under 21s up until U21 Euro 2025, as any players born on or after 1 January 2002 are eligible.

The money received paid the balance of the CE build costs.

Think Hennessey got most of his caps after playing for us, much like Ash. could be one of the 60s/ 70s players who ended their career with us maybe? Best / Young or someone like that, but they played fewer international games back then. other option might be one of the 90s Finns? Paul Jones managed 50 Welsh caps post County

Believe he was only brought in over the summer, is so wonder how much influence he has had on the change in style over the summer? Would be a blow if he has been fairly instrumental to it.

Would they have to pay us compensation, I'd settle for a friendly at their place.

Bit of an interesting one, if not already posted: Stockport County coach Andy Mangan is being linked to a sensational move to Real Madrid, where he would become a part of Carlo Ancelotti's backroom staff in the Spanish capital. Can't link to the article, how has that move possibly come about? has he a connection to the staff at Real?
