And Full of Fit Players ๐๐ป (well almost) Let's hope so. Let's also hope that the club manage to fix whatever (whoever?) keeps breaking our players. The current system isn't sustainable long-term The whole problem has been mystifying to say the least and you keep expecting (hoping) thereโll be an actual end to it. A bigger problem to manage than attempting to focus on the match ahead and the opposition themselves in many ways. We cannot afford to let this become a repetitive cycle of players continuing to suffer new injuries, one in, one out etc. If it means more rotation to maybe help spread the matchday load, then that should hopefully be more of an option looking ahead.

Get Mingi and Bate back not long after the break. Fiorini, Mellon, Connolly and Adaramola four new additions who we haven'tย even seen yet to make the squad even better and stronger. Apologies if missed but what is the word on Mellon? Is there a timeframe for his return or are we still talking the majority, if not whole, season out?

Challinor said after the Bristol Rovers game he was due back training with us week commencing 9th September. I don't know when his return to play is or what the injury ended up being (probably an MCL) but it obviously wasn't an ACL as was speculated at the time.

Academy game for those wanting to check them out asked about this the other day. Glad its attendable, although everywhere that had it said it wad tomorrow. Didn't even know we had an u21 team tbh (even if its just a b team) but all our older players who are about that age are all out on loan or can they play in that competition? Edit - just read the description to find "There may also be some involvement from our emerging talent and first-team players on the night." So that answers my question kinda

I guess there's a decent chance Tanto, Powell and Stretton could feature as well as anyone elsewhere just back and coming off a significant injury. wonder if bate will play as part as a first teamer whos u21 and maybe just coming back from injury Can't see it myself. He's only missed 2 games and had a preseason. He's most likely to benefit from the added rest and recovery for his injury. It's the ones short of minutes after long breaks who might play. Being U21 never matters that much for these things. It's half u21 development and half a B team to give squad minutes. A quick Google suggests we're allowed 5 outfield over 21s and a keeper. So we could see Ben too. It's a group stage too of 6 games (4 team group H&A) so it could be useful minutes for Rydel, MSH etc. in future too. "The competition is in the UEFA Champions League style with 32 clubs in the main group stage from Premier League 2 as well as the Professional Development League. Like Premier League 2, it will be contested between Under-21 teams, with each side allowed five over-age outfield players and one over-age goalkeeper." www.premierleague.com/premier-league-cup-explained

Will we get a fee for this? I'm guessing so as he'd be under contract with us

Why's Hughes not home grown...? Wiki suggests he was born and grew up in England. Not that it matters!

Why's Hughes not home grown...? Wiki suggests he was born and grew up in England. Not that it matters! Started his career at Chester and played there until he was 20. Chester may be classed as Wales for this ruling? Bit bizarre but the only thing I can think of.
