McCann is comfortably good enough to be a top 10 league 1 manager, arguably best manager in the league on paper. That’s the major turning point for them. Yep, they're absolutely buzzing he's back at the helm. Successful under him before & they loved his attacking style of football. I think they'll be significantly improved next season. Well they could not do much worse than the back end of last season. If they had gone into free fall earlier they,d have been in the NL now. McCann did well there before and there is no guarentee he,d stay if a better offer came along again if they hit the ground running early on. Think things behind the scene at donny is not what many fans want or expect either.

We're second favourites for the title next season. Wrexham 7/2 County 6/1 Notts 8/1 Gills 10/1 Could be a bit of each way value on Donny at 20/1. Prem - City Ch’ship - Southampton L1 - Bolton L2 (promotion) - County 319/1 SkyBet. Hard to look past Wrexham for the title next year. It’s taken as read that Wrexham are going to have it all their own way. I don’t think they will. In the promotion picture, definitely. But signed sealed and delivered as theirs before a ball’s been kicked? No chance.

Hadn’t noticed that MK Dons appointed Graham Alexander. Very shrewd appointment and can see them being a threat.

Hadn’t noticed that MK Dons appointed Graham Alexander. Very shrewd appointment and can see them being a threat. Probably yeah. Thing is though, if you put a squad together that can get you to 95 points, you’re going up. We are well capable of doing that. There’s a little bit too much fretting about what everyone else is doing for my liking. As long as we get it right ourselves, we’ll be fine.

I’m quite confident that we’ll improve this season and that means the automatic spots. So not unduly worried about what anyone else does. Just thought he was a decent appointment after a couple of bizarre ones that meant they ended up down here.

Saw someone fretting about Forest Green on another social media platform who managed six league wins last season. FWIW I think MK could be there or thereabouts and possibly Accrington under Coleman too but as you say we need to aim to get a high points total ourselves and not worry about anyone else.

I,d be very surprised if accrington are not involved in a relegation scrap after hearing their owner is going to be happy with a mid table finish before a ball is kicked or his squad is sorted out. Teams that think that way from the outset tend to be even lower than there poor aspirations. Sometimes honesty in football can bite you in the arse nowadays as its not going to actually sell ST from the outset where fans crave success more than ever before.

Does make you wonder what SW and Co do all day, mind.

I don't know if Wilson is the one to blame because he is the one that gets the contracts signed but who are our scouts finding.

Matt Jansen is head of recruitment isn't he ? I think he’s something to do with player liaison or some other disconcertingly vague job title.
