Don’t blame them cashing out. 9 grand up. Oh yeah I’d take the money and run. Yeah same; not worth the risk for the extra £800. Yeah, that's a lifechanging sum of money for some people. Still... for them to drop out of the top 7: - they need to lose away at Gils (nothing to play for) after winning 10 in a row; - Crewe basically need a point away at Colchester (fighting for survival) or to lose but by 2 less than Doncaster; - and both Barrow and Crawley need to win, both at home but vs Mansfield and Grimsby respectively. Barrow haven't won in 6 and Crawley in 4. Pretty good odds for an extra £800 though risking £9k for it!

In the middle of a retail estate as well Yep. Another awful out of town bowl. So glad we’re not doing that. I won't totally relax on that score until the planning permission goes in and the building starts. The mixed messages of the last few years make me a tiny bit concerned. Only a tiny bit but still.

Cumulative odds for all that (Crewe drawing) are about 40-1, so you could put £250 on an accumulator and you're then guaranteed 10 grand either way.

The mixed messages of the last few years make me a tiny bit concerned. Only a tiny bit but still. I just don’t see it. The figures being suggested for the planned work aren’t as much as a new stadium would cost. And since the council own the land EP sits on it couldn’t be flogged off to make up the shortfall either. I do understand your thinking, and I’m with you on not just taking people at their words while certain actions are still not forthcoming, but I just don’t see any logical reasons for us to be moved.

A new stadium on cheap council land (is there any?) with a retail development to help fund it might work out cheaper than the astronomically high prices that have been quoted for the EP redevelopment. I agree that it's very unlikely and the mixed messages are probably down to changing circumstances and piss-poor comms. But still, I'd like to see the planning application, please. It's been quite a few years now...

Doubt any fans want to move from EP even the ones who might hit lucky with a new ground walking distance from their home. I,d hate to start this new out of town v EP argument all over again as i feel the majority in the past are for us staying put.

No matter how high the figures are you’d have to at least double it for a new ground, and I’m not convinced there’s a big enough flat piece of land anywhere in the borough so there would be significant landscaping costs too.

True, but we are talking "out of town" don't forget 😬. But yeah, I'm not really expecting it to happen. Would just like more progress after all this time. Like someone said on another thread, there are only two options - getting on with it or staying as we are, and I'm not sure staying as we are is practical any more.

Still not totally convinced about the parking for EP is fully resolved if we increase ground capacity and can fill it. There are those of us who have zero options like me where without a car it would be a ball ache and not worth the hassle in using public transport or a wish to walk a long distance finding a car park thats not overly expensive or getting there late finding its full and having to search somewhere else. Out of town means out of town though where parking could be easy like donny rovers but with the choice of burger bars or footy expensive grub being your only eating options. Thats before the drinkers are catered for.

Every other way of getting to EP is better than it would be some out of town bowl by a motorway. Every. Single. One.

Thats before the drinkers are catered for. I think the reality of going to County over the next 5-10 years is you'll have to use public transport (or at the very least a Park & Ride somewhere a couple of miles from the ground) unless you park way down Bird Hall Lane and have a 25 min walk from your car. Any expansion to EP will surely come at the price of extending the permit parking areas to protect residents. Tbh, I'm on board with that. And that's someone who drives to 90% of home games. We've got a park at the end of our road where loads of kids teams play on Saturday mornings and it's a joke trying to park or get the car out as people just abandon them. That's for maybe 200 kids playing. If we're getting 15k at games then anywhere within a mile of EP should be permit parking only. They're mostly tight terraced streets as it is, it's not like there's big vast boulevards cutting through SK3 with loads of parking options.

I was genuinely surprised at how few roads in Edgeley had matchday permit parking in place when I was having a walk round it the other week. That’ll definitely change with the stadium expansion as you say, and rightly so.

Just been watching Championship highlights. Watching the Tom Cleverley and Liam Rosenior’s interviews after the Hull v Watford game. How refreshing to see a couple of young enthusiastic coaches getting such a great opportunity to make a success in football management. Let’s see more guys like this getting a chance.
