Not that I'll be here if they come the same time as last year but is Pinatar on the cards again?

I meant if you want free street parking, as most currently do. Do not think its free parking fans are after its just somewhere within a 5 or 10 minute walk. Not all of us are able to walk even that with difficulty and a few will be put off from attending. I arrive now just after 12.30 where it used to be 1 or 1.30 back in the NLN days just to park somewhere easy with no problems. Some cannot do this and have no option but to arrive at the last minute. All this is fine when we are a high, but fans are fickle and will use even an average season not to go. Once you get out of the habit it might take em awhile to come back. As for the residents who find County an inconveniance they should have tried living 5 minutes from rugby railway station where i got inconvenianced 6 days a week throughout the year. The multi storey at the station is a 10 minute walk and is reasonably priced as long as you stay under 4 hours, there’s even the County discount code, I’m surprised more don’t use it

I've heard it is but I can't get any confirmation, I'm back now so it's a little over an hour from here. 15th July seems to be the word. I would usually keep that quiet but it seems to be widely known as multiple people have mentioned it so passing it on here. No idea how long we’d be out there for if it is the correct date.

Thats fine if you live on the 192 or a route that passes near the top of the ground. When i lived a couple of miles from the shay i walked to the odd games i went to or caught the bus as it stopped above the ground. Others that lived closer got dropped off in the bus station which was on the other side of the town to the ground. I never once went by car but can understand those others doing so if it was raining and arriving there wet through when you had a better option available sat in the garage.

As far as I know the machines still take cash BUT I don’t think you can get the discount any way other than by using the NCP app.

Loads of buses pass down Mercian Way, you could park in pretty much any place a mile away from EP and be able to pick up a bus that will drop you 30 seconds from the ground.

Have you got a debit card? You don't need to have a phone or an app, but you'll be able to pay on card (probably cash too).

The blunt answer is there probably won't be anywhere within a 5/10 min walk, unless you've got a blue badge. There's the car park behind the Albert on Castle Street which is always available if you're early but beyond that I don't think we'll be catering for fans to park that close to the ground (except the suits at the ground). Nor should we, really. It's a residential area. A space big enough for a big car park should be used for homes or green space. And this is all coming from someone who drives everywhere and wouldn't use a bus even if they paid me for the journey. Those who coming because they can't find a parking space when turning up at the last minute will probably be a tiny minority. The wider benefits far outweigh their inconvenience.

Fine, but surely if we are trying to attract more fans to EP we might actually be putting some current ones off if you are right. You are making a really good case for an out of town flatpack with football specials catered for those who haven't or do not want to use a car.

An out of town ground might have more parking immediately around it, but it’d be a bigger pain in the arse to get to for the majority of fans. The only thing EP could do with is more disabled parking, it’s walkable, or easily accessible on public transport or easy to park within 10 mins walk for everyone else, more disabled parking with the ground improvements and it’s as perfect as you’ll ever get for accessibility
