There are 19 railway stations in Stockport. All 19 go to Manchester. Only 6 go to Stockport Town centre - Heaton Chapel, Cheadle Hulme, Bramhall, Woodsmoor, Davenport, Hazel Grove. Poynton? Disley? Middlewood (Higher Poynton / High Lane)? Handforth? Wilmslow? Your point is valid though in general. It's not ideal. Although all places in "Greater" Stockport, crucially none of those railway stations are in Stockport itself 😉

Morecambe really in the brown stuff. Academy team to play tomorrow apparently think it was mentioned on TSBW podcast before we played them the other week, that they only have one player registered for next season.

Makes you miss the NLN days, where you could park where you want & sometimes the locals weren't even aware there was a football ground nearby. Yep, that was about the only good thing. At Brackley you could pretty much park right outside on the housing estate. I always used to park opposite the police station, a couple of roads down from the ground and about 5 minutes walk away. Figured that was the safest place to park. I've just realised, that means I had a regular preferred parking spot at Brackley (shakes head vigourously in disbeilef!).

If you don’t have bits of part-time regional football that you miss, then you were never there! I miss turning up a 2.58pm and walking straight in without being searched for whatever they think I've got on me and I quite enjoyed my trips to BPA for some reason! BPA on that grass verge. The bus stop at the other end. Amis! (Those were the days.)

I live in north Manchester and drive to about 75% of the games I go to, it’s half an hour on the M60 vs over an hour by bus and train. But I don’t understand the idea that I should be able to find free parking. That’s space on a public road that is in demand, and that demand has to be rationed. Theres plenty of parking, I wouldn’t expect to get it for free any more than the match ticket being free. Yes, you do not expect free parking when you go to town centres or a day out at the coast, but you expect it to be available and without it the town will suffer.

For anyone not going today.
Derby host Carlisle on sky sports at 12.30pm today. A chance to see the top end of league 1 and the bottom end of league 1.
