I agree that Gannon is a club legend, slightly flawed in my opinion, but a legend nevertheless. You can also see why his approach when he WAS the club could have led to the club post takeover thinking is this going to work in the long term. Challinor is doing a fantastic job and doubt he is aware or would care about Gannons input on social media. I've never understood why him being flawed is used as a negative. Of course he's flawed, we all are. Me neither. Most successful people are successful because of their 'flaws' not despite them

I've never understood why him being flawed is used as a negative. Of course he's flawed, we all are. Flawed was fine when he was the club, the touchline bust ups, the refusal to speak to Sky, the taking sponsors to task for their MOM all made Jim what he was and in the main we all loved it, but new ownership may have viewed that side of him with some trepidation. I bet some of the same peeps lauded Brian Clough as a maverick genius too (which Cloughie was).

I should probably make a final statement that Jim is both a club legend and genius then lock this thread 😁

It's an interesting one, but given the job he was paid to do was exactly that, I'd say getting a cut shouldn't happen. That said, I don't blame Gannon for that, we gave him that contract.

Agreed it shouldn’t be part of any manager’s contract, was Jim selling off players for his own financial benefit?

That wouldn't be my concern as he didn't have final say on what offers to accept and there is no evidence of him doing that.

It’s a straight forward bonus arrangement I really don't see the controversy, it's not as if it was to the team's detriment.

We’ve just thrashed franchise, are unbeaten in six, and are second in the division. We'd won one in six before that game and the mood was getting waggly... But he didn’t tweet it before the Franchise game did he?

I also thought he had that clause in his 1st Spell - not sure he had that agreement in his contract at the point he left under Stott?

Had a conversation with Roger Wylde at a recent event and he asked me my opinion on Jim. Roger said jim was taking massive cuts of the players when sold. And the year we went into admin according to Roger Jim wouldn't let them take his Mrs off the books because it would affect his child benefits. Roger Wylde didn't have a good word to say about him.

There was a running joke apparently at one point that she was the best paid tea lady ever think it was Rob Clare who said that who has never really held Jim in great regard I don't think
