Virgin Media announce they'll be showing Bohemians vs Shamrock Rovers next week - certainly, if there's healthy competition between the FTA stations for TV rights, it'll do wonders for broader awareness of the League.

Tonight's reward for dedicated support goes to Finn Harps fans, who would have required an early morning departure for today's 258-mile single trip to Tralee, although the Kingdom's abject form suggests their weekender in the South-West will be a happy one. The Donegalmen are coming off the back of a 7-1 mauling from Waterford, with Galway still flawless after a 3-1 success away to Athlone, Cobh defeating Bray 2-1, while improving Treaty United drew with Wexford.
In the Premier Division, Shamrock Rovers finally got their first win of 2023, courtesy of a 4-0 away thumping of Dundalk, Derry deservedly won 1-0 away to Shelbourne, struggling Cork drew 1-1 at home to Drogheda, St Pats relegation worries eased after a 3-0 success against UCD, and Bohemians continue to lead the way after a 1-0 triumph against Sligo at The Showgrounds.

LoI Premier Division attendances for the first phase of matches in 2023 are up 27% compared to last year, with the average gate standing at 3,590 (2,821 in 2022).
Bohs: 4,212 Cork: 4,923 Derry: 3,593 Drogheda: 2,041 Dundalk: 3,122 Shamrock Rovers: 5,835 Shels: 3,365 Sligo: 3,457 St Pats: 4,354 UCD: 632
By this Friday, First Division clubs will also have played each other once, so we may get similar stats for the second tier next week.

How do attendances in NI stack up, compared to ROI, Kerryman? Somewhat lower, their average is 1,604: Glentoran 3,277 Linfield 2,974 Coleraine 2,744 Larne 1,881 Cliftonville 1,697 Crusaders 1,604 Ballymena 1,375 Portadown 1,003 Newry 911 Glenavon 906 Dungannon 678 Carrick Rangers 627 www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn/avenir.htmIt used to be almost impossible to get attendance stats South of the Border, until the FAI Connect app collated all data this season.

Cheers KM. Forgot about Glentoran and also forgot Derry play in the LOI. So the figures roughly equate to the lower League 2 or upper Conference or SPL minus The Auld Firm and Edinburgh. Good stattage fella.

I know Linfield, Derry City, Colraine and Cliftonville have a following, but not sure about the rest. Probably worth carving Derry out of that given they play in the League of Ireland... Edit: see you've spotted that!

Cheers KM. Forgot about Glentoran and also forgot Derry play in the LOI. So the figures roughly equate to the lower League 2 or upper Conference or SPL minus The Auld Firm and Edinburgh. Good stattage fella. Also, five clubs in the First Division (Waterford, Galway, Harps, Cobh and Kerry) currently have averages over 1,000, and accordingly higher than the bottom half of the NI Premiership.

A night to forget for leaders Bohemians, as they fall to a 3-2 home defeat to St Pats at Dalymount Park. Shamrock Rovers are unable to take advantage, though they do come from 0-2 behind to draw 2-2 with Shelbourne, while UCD rather surprisingly get their first win of the season against Cork, who now look in relegation trouble.
As mentioned, Finn Harps won 2-0 against Treaty United, lifting them to 7th in the table, while Athlone rise to 5th after their success against Cobh. Galway are 9 from 9 after hammering Bray 6-0, and now lead the division by 10 points, while Kerry come close to a first away point of the season against second-placed Waterford, but are ultimately beaten 1-0.

At the 14th attempt, Kerry FC have finally won a game, away to Athlone Town, with Ryan Kelliher notching his 5th and 6th league goals in 11 games! Ethan Farrar has missed the last two matches for Finn Harps due to injury, while Daniel Okwute has featured, but not added to his solitary goal to date. Elsewhere in the second tier, Waterford thrashed Cobh 5-0 to remain second, while runaway leaders Galway overcame Wexford 2-0.
In the Premier, Shamrock Rovers defeated UCD 3-0 to move top of the table, previous leaders Bohemians lost 1-0 at home to Derry, Cork conceded two injury-time goals to fall to a 2-1 home loss to Dundalk, and Pats overcome Drogheda 3-0 to climb to 5th.
