I get that but Hartlepool are known for a good away following, we didn’t even open up the railway end against Halifax last season, so why now? As big a game as this is for us, we have a responsibility to make sure away fans can get a fair crack at following their team. Imagine if the roles were reversed, we’d be absolutely fuming. Nah, f*ck 'em. Anyone else would do the same. Our responsibility is to give teams X amount of tickets as a minimum which we will adhere to, it's our ground, we need the points and we should take any advantage necessary. Agree to disagree, it reflects badly on us as a club, especially with the Challinor connection, especially considering the Halifax game was exponentially bigger last season but we didn’t do it then.

[quote author=" redhatter" source="/post/227886/thread" time? My only concern is County fans in yellow block being moved. Have they been consulted?[/quote] No

We’ve had a game where we had the whole of the pop haven’t we? That, with Hartlepool on the RE would seem fairest. But dressing up doesn’t entitle them to more tickets, anyone turning up to a potential relegation out of the league game in fancy dress is weird beyond comprehension

More important is it’s a promotion decider for us and we should get as many home fans in as possible. I don’t want a full away end if we’re desperate for 3 points. We also probably had a lot better relationship with Halifax than we do with Hartlepool 😉

If we are giving them at least the minimum number of tickets under league rules and if we are likely to ell out the rest of the ground to home fans (which seems possible given recent games) why would it reflect badly on us. Only possible issue is away fans trying to buy in home ends, but not going to bel easy for a bunch of Smurfs to pretend they are home fans.

I still don’t get that they’d want their last memory of league football to be wandering back down Station Approach dressed as a Smurf.

I get we’re selling out more regularly this season but the scale of the Halifax game meant we’d have sold out the railway end if we’d have opened it up to home fans easily.

Underlines the need for stadium expansion doesn’t it. 100% but in the meantime I think club need to have a long hard think about this one, I feel a bit embarrassed to be honest. Why are you embarrassed? We're giving them both more than their average away followings.

Because we’ve not done it for any other match before tickets have gone on sale, we’ve also not done that for any matches where away support has been as big as Hartlepool and we’ve not done it for bigger games such as Halifax last season. All of that combined with the fact that Challinor coming to us caused a lot of bad blood at Hartlepool could look like we’re sticking it to them on the last away day of what could be their last season in the EFL.

They appear to be getting two blocks of the pop - so a touch over 900 tickets? I think the problem is that the club have to make the decision now and make it they have, whether we agree with it or not. Every time we “sell out” people moan about not being able to get a ticket and the Salford game proved we can fill the ground when there are less than 600 away in. So should be able to sell the lot hopefully. Will admit to being surprised by them doing it for Rochdale as they had already announced that the full 1400 would be available to them - perhaps Dale have told the club that sales aren’t great? Hartlepool - more complex, but 900 isn’t bad (remember our Wrexham allocations last year).

Jist of this is in my reply up there☝️ But 2 blocks in the Pop side which is between 800 and 900 is more than enough, Hartlepool don't regularly have a big following, they have a big day out on the last day of the season and we're giving them around double their average away attendance.
