I’ve got a bit of a long read to share with you today, which is essentially what Substack was set up for, to share writing within a like-minded community. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Harry, Chris and James for helping me produce today’s article, which will hopefully help anyone who’s struggling with mental health issues at the moment. I’ll be writing a series of features throughout this journey, and I’ll share the experiences of other County fans who recently got in touch with me as well. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/the-streets-of-stockportExcuse the capitals.... LOVE READING THESE ARTICLES, BUT THIS ONE IS A 'MUST READ' It's not light hearted like usual, but just shows that you never know what's round the corner for yourself or a loved one. Good Luck Des with your journey round the streets of Stockport.

I’ll be doing articles and photos etc throughout the walk which will hopefully be a decent read!

Any carrot crunchers making the long trip up from Gloucestershire might not receive the warmest welcome from County tonight. Dave Challinor’s men have been positively carnivorous in recent weeks, feasting on Franchise flesh and gorging on Welsh blood. Chally’s beasts might just smell the fear in a Forest Green side that’s lost four on the trot, and rip them apart this evening as the hunt for promotion continues. Ian Brown, Jonathan Baker and Paul Thompson have all predicted a County win tonight, which would guarantee us a place in the top seven by the time Cashy switches off the floodlights. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/county-v-forest-green

I’m excited to share the first part of a new series with you today, which should be a lot of fun over the next few weeks, or at the very least something to pass the time on your daily commute. Now, we all know that Louie Barry sits defenders on their arse, and that Ben Hinchliffe saves penalties, and that Tanto makes Welshmen cry. But do you know exactly what County’s off-the-pitch team do? There’s 61 different names listed on the contacts page on the club’s official website, from Stotty at the top to Kenny B at the mic, and I thought it’d be interesting to have a chat with some of them to delve a little deeper into their roles, as well as the important stuff like what they have for lunch. Nick Clarke joins us today to kick off the series. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/so-what-do-you-do-then

I spoke to Steve Jones from the Doncaster Free Press yesterday (click here to read the interview) who gave the following prediction: “Heart says Doncaster win, head says draw or victory for Stockport.” Even with Grant McCann’s men starting to climb the table with three wins in four, having been bottom in mid-September, a journalist who watches Donny every week still thinks it could be a tough afternoon. Likewise, our own quartet of pundits aren’t fazed by Donny’s upturn in form. We’ve got predictions of 2-1, 2-0, 3-0 and even a cheeky little 4-0. Andrew Barlow, Ian Brown, Paul Thompson and Jonathan Baker are all backing County to record a sixth consecutive victory this afternoon, which could potentially take us to the top of the table, if our namesakes from Nottingham lose at Barrow (plus Wimbledon and Crewe not winning comfortably away from home). thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/county-v-doncaster-632

Had to do a double take with turn at the D & P. Steve Fisher is a regular at the bars around here in our corner of Almeria.
He's worth going to see just to see how bloody awful he is.
Saw him once when we first moved over here. I walked out after 3 songs and have no intention of going to see him again and we're both pretty big fans of Rod Stewart.

For your Sunday reading, it’s the second part of our new series in which we speak to some of the 61 different people listed on the club contacts page on County’s official website. Adam Jones joins us for a chat about golf, Gareth Southgate and creamy chicken pasta. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/so-what-do-you-do-then-95b

County left it late on Saturday, but we managed to do something we failed to do in last season’s home game, and break down a stubborn Doncaster side. Jack Street from The Beavers and Steve Jones from the Doncaster Free Press take a look back at Saturday’s game, with Tanto’s header lifting County up to second. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/county-1-doncaster-0

Used to fly over every now and again, stay at the Britannia and do a gig at the Puss. Not the best I've ever seen but always got the room rocking.

The last time County and Salford played each other, a crowd of 10,023 witnessed extra-time, a penalty shootout and a pitch invasion. Something tells me tonight’s Pizza Cup group game won’t quite reach those same heights. In fact, is anyone arsed in the slightest about the competition at this stage? Premier League B teams, meagre attendances, four-team groups, it’s not the same is it? I don’t even think your favourite County correspondents are that interested, as they seem to have copied each other’s score predictions. I’ll be reprimanding Ian Brown, Jonathan Baker and Paul Thompson later on don’t worry. (Well, unless they’re all correct with their 2-1 forecast, in which case I might let them off.) thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/salford-v-county-09e
