It might be ' pissing on the alter' for some on here . But from what I've seen this season ( ST holder ), we are not a good side and ordinarily play dull ponderous defensive football. Watching County is a chore . Given how much money Stott has spent and his stadium capital investment and vison for the future, I think he is being 'short changed ' by DC and the analytical overhead edifice that has been build up. With the exception of Horsfall & Madden with maybe Rydell and Stretton with upside potential and Croasdale & Collar as effective midfielders at this level we have a bunch of journeyman pro's with little energy or flair.Hinchiffe is a decent keeper at this level. Maybe very unfair on Wootton who does a decent job as the point striker and Camps and Evans who maybe have some attacking capability-- if given a sustained chance . But otherwise, we are mediocre and would get nowhere if promoted ,without a complete rethink and when the 'gloves come off' in the play-offs we will get ousted pdq. OK I'll say it ..................... DC is not the man to develop the right attacking high tempo play that provides the entertainment that I want to see or the success that Stott's investment deserves. Are you suggesting Challinor should go then?

I do enjoy the fact that everyone can see the same games differently, sometimes I think weâre guilty of what youâve described above (Gillingham at home being a good example). instances of this are few and far between though. The stats speak for themselves- pretty much 2ppg from game 11 onwards. Our problem isnât our style of play, itâs the collation of a fairly large stack of red cards in a short time at the beginning of the season.

Maybe I just have a bad memory but when was the last time we scored from a corner? I asked this last week but had genuinely forgotten. Colchester (A). Before that, Northampton (H).

Maybe I just have a bad memory but when was the last time we scored from a corner? When was the last time Man City, Bayern, Barca, PSG scored from corners? Not many goals are scored from corners.

Nice stat on the EFL highlights show.
Coming into the game we were the only team in League Two to take more points in this calendar year than Gillingham.

Not the most entertaining performance, but games at this stage of the season are going to be cagey and nervy. And Gillingham put in a classic Neil Harris team display of doing everything they could to disrupt and spoil any kind of fluency and then grab themselves a goal from a bit of pin ball.
Don't think you can really criticise the coaching staff too much. They had a go first half with a system but didn't score. Changed the system at half time and (a bit unfortunately) conceded. Changed the system again and then scored.
The bloke who chucked the ball away at the end was completely legless.

Now we are looking to move to league 1 Football has been stodgy most of 2023 - but the progress we have made is immeasurable Most of the games are extremely tight and hinge on small details Heading in the right direction whatever happens this season Of course plenty of room for improvement. And some of the performances have been lacking attacking fizz. But surely not much to complain about

My first visit to Gillingham. Thought it was a decent ground, with the stewards and the police being friendly and pretty low key.
Gillingham are obviously a tough oppontent at the moment, they played on the break and looked quick and effective going forward (although we limited their opportunities).
Thought there was a bit of karma with the late equaliser, after their histrionics to try to see out the game. Best bit for me was when their subbed player took an age to leave the field and Ben ended up running over to push him off the field!
All in all, a good result against an in form team with a decent backing.

You obviously havenât met many of our fans then. Looks like it was one of your lot . Last couple of mins on this guys vlog It was definitely one of ours. No idea at all what he was thinking, but he had 500 County fans yelling at him to tell him what they thought of it.

Love how you say how disappointing the team is, with a few exceptions, and then go on to name 10 out of a starting 11 𤣠To be fair I get where youâre coming from but no one in this league is great and I think with the players youâve mentioned that we have enough to stumble over the line to promotion.

I thought the referee & officials had a pretty decent game today. Ref let the game flow, with some very physical challenges on both side, but also stepped in when needed. I liked the incident in the 2nd half when he marked out 10 yards for a County free kick, and a Gills player wouldn't retreat behind the line. The Connty fans attracted the refs attention and he sorted it out.
I always find it reassuring when the opposition are singing "You're not fit to referee..."
