He does nudge Johnson. It's alright saying "don't go down" but he's effected his jump and he got the run and jump on him and would have scored even in Johnson has stayed up and tried to head it. Him going down has won us the free kick. You stay up, you get f*ck all there I'm afraid. As said look at what Wootton gets penalised for and what he doesn't win his way. If you can't beat them, join them. Johnson was right to go down. Its a sad thing that in todays game players are having to do this and know they will get away with it. Too much money involved in the game now for referees to be brave and give any attacking teams the benefit of any doubt whatsoever. Goals have to be 100 per cent spot on otherwise the defence gets all the benefits . I see where you're coming from.
However from a defenders viewpoint, he's impeded me and my attempt for the ball. I agree that defenders do get the benefit (particularly goalkeepers) more than the attackers.
The way football is refereed, my best option to bring this to referee's attention, is to go down. It's not Squash where you request a stroke to the marker. I guarentee he stays on his feet there, we come home from Kent with a 2-1 defeat. Any appeals afterwards would be a total waste of time.
Just as Johnson "knows what he's doing" by going down, I can assure you the Gillingham attacker "knows what he's doing" with his little nudge too. Who you think should be given the benefit is subjective.

In that case, the attacker every time. A two handed push or charge at Johnson then blow up for a foul. But he barely touched him. That contact is not a foul. I get what you’re saying but it stinks.

W hen its the other way round and an attacker goes down easy commontators say, there is not enough in that to give him a freekick. Then why not the other way round.
