Just why would you do that šš Judging by the glassy smile he was wearing and the fact that he seemed to be glorying in the attention despite everyone around him calling him a ****, I'd say it was because he had something up his nose.

Had to go and check the results after reading some comments on yesterdays game. Actually thought we had lost instead of picking up a point against an inform side who we have never really done well against. If we actually do miss out on the automatic spots it will not be yesterdays draw that caused it but some of those post northamton ones at EP where we either failed to score or failed to score twice throwing away points against doncaster, mansfield , bradford and salford. Ok you can forgive it once but not 4 times.

We did well to get a point out of that. Could see their goal coming. yet we nearly snuck all three in the end. Full marks to DC for not letting the game drift and making changes early. too many sub par performances. i wonder if it was tiredness or some feeling the pressure.
think we need to win them all now. fancy Bradford for one of two auto spots up for grabs. Don't they play Northampton last game of the season?
think we need Paddy back in on Tuesday. might we see Johnson too? Hippo to LWB and probably Camps in midfield. 3 points a must. If we lose, autos have gone. A point leaves us clinging onto a chance of autos by our fingernails.

Assuming Rydel is out, Hippo at LWB and Paddy in the attacking midfield position I think he will play next season whichever league we're in. As for Camps, he hasn't done a thing for me yet, on the bench. I watched Orient v Carlisle the other week and neither impressed. Carlisle have only scored two goals in six games. This game is definitely a doer for County, as long as we are on our game, like against Newport.

For what its worth I think a team has been put together to get us out of this league, thats all. depending on where we are in 4 games will decide wether the bulk will move on. Would be boring if we fielded a team a of premier players would it not? We should never lose sight of who we are, we are County and if there was an end of season category for proper County player of the year I would pick Johnson. Obvious limits, Always smiling, never lets us down with his cameos, does his job and would head a lump of concrete. He gets it and is enjoying the ride as we should

Thats where the problem can arise if you sign the wrong ones that do not fit in the side with 11 individuals on the pitch but not a team.

Looks like it was one of your lot . Last couple of mins on this guys vlog It was definitely one of ours.Ā No idea at all what he was thinking, but he had 500 County fans yelling at him to tell him what they thought of it. Was honestly surprised nobody lamped him. One bloke seemed to move towards him as if to do so and then decided against it. Not that Iām condoning that, but I definitely thought someone would in the moment.

I thought the referee & officials had a pretty decent game today. Ref let the game flow, with some very physical challenges on both side, but also stepped in when needed. I liked the incident in the 2nd half when he marked out 10 yards for a County free kick, and a Gills player wouldn't retreat behind the line. The Connty fans attracted the refs attention and he sorted it out. I always find it reassuring when the opposition are singing "You're not fit to referee..." I thought the ref was fine, and had his card marked with the home fans pretty early on. See a lot of complaints from Gillingham fans about refs always booking their players but not the oppositions and of course thatās the case of the refs being wrong - not their players. I do think we had a let off with the disallowed goal, but equally all any defenders had to do was fall down and heād blow for a free kick all game, in either box. That said they took the piss out of him with the sort of gamesmanship you mention. That particular incident their player gets pissy about where we spot the ball, then ignores the line heās supposed to go behind and as soon as the refs back is turned he was back in front of it. Still was when the free kick was taken despite the ref making a thing of telling him again. Quite a few niggly time wasting incidents like that which should have received yellow cards - beyond the joke of a throw in that eventually did. As for the one where their sub got pushed off the pitch by Ben - the ref has made a point of making players go off their nearest touchline, but then let them take long diagonal walks to it, rather than the shortest route. Their antics got right on my wick, and while it wasnāt quite Boston levels of nonsense there was still a sense of karma when we nicked the equaliser.

He should have played advantage when Wootton got fouled but played Hippolyte clean through. I thought we massively got away with one when Johnson went down too easily and they headed it in. He also missed Dieng flicking out at Johnson with his boot in the aftermath of that incident.

That decision probably cost us 2 points.

First season up and we are still in with a shout of automatic, be happy š this is County why on earth would it be easy, bound to get the last game jeopardy that Suedehead likes! I've a feeling it's going to be a "win + results go our way" scenario at the Hartlepool game, proper last day jeopardy.

"With the greatest of respect, bollocks" (Waldorf). No respect necessary, it is a footie forum and should be about gossip, information, different views and maybe lively debate. Anybody posting comments can't be too precious about it !! But 'group-think' isn't much fun !
I'm not looking for DC to be sacked, as somebody asked but I think if I was Stott I'd be challenging the style of play and the recruitment strategy. Yes we have come along way and back in the football league. I'd have thought most people, including me, were looking for us to consolidate in this division then attempt promotion. So it would be wrong to replace DC. It's a learning curve for him as well. This season cannot be construed as a failure.
But with a few exceptions ( Horsfall/Madden as stand-outs) the Club seem to have gone for quantity not quality. Our more forward thinking midfielders like Camps and Evans seem under-utilised to me and especially Evans hasn't had a proper chance to prove himself. We seem to lack a high calibre central ball player whilst having various ball winners. Sarcevic is now painfully slow. Up front Wootton labours away admirably and plays that point striker role very well indeed but to me we seem so slow in our build up play and quite predictable. We lack real explosive pace to exploit space. Maybe that is why we paid a fee for Tanto Olaofe but he hardly gets any game time and whilst quick does he have the goal scoring skills to match his speed ? Most of his football has been at Sutton Utd on loan where as I understand it he scored 16 goals in his last season (?) as a winger.
It will be interesting to see what Wrexham do when (if !) they get promoted. They already have star strikers and when they wanted a goalkeeper they bought in Ben Foster the ex-England keeper. I'm sure they will be looking up the leagues not down the leagues for new talent to reinforce their squad.
