It's not about him not getting forward, it's about which spaces he occupies in certain phases of play. Which results in Hussey moving into space he's in which doesn't happen when Hippo is at LWB. At least you know what he is trying to do and usually succeeds. With Hippo you haven,t a clue what he will do next and seems to go from hero to zero when he touches the ball twice. two thing that frustrates me with hippo is why he let's the ball bounce, as when he does it then goes over his head and defender steps in and makes it harder for him to do anything. Also when he jumps for a header he doesn't actually attempt to head the ball, he just sorta jumps up near the ball but with no motion to head the ball

Not knowing what he is going to do from one minute to the next can upset defences but not a player to rely on if you are struggling for points at the wrong end of the league. A luxury player we can afford at the moment but unsure in the future.

Another set of tickets I bought as soon as I could on general sale and have paid postage for that don’t look like they’re going to turn up before the match. I assume the Gillingham ticket office will be able to print them again for me but it’s just unnecessary stress. E-ticketing for away matches has to be introduced next season.

I'm looking to buy an additonal ticket for tomorrow. Unless I've missed something on Gillingham's website, it isn't obvious which are the additional tickets for away fans. I'm assuming it is the ones in Block F of the Gordon Road Stand as I already have one in block H - does anyone know if that is correct?
BTW - their ticket selection process looks pretty slick - first of all you get a photo of the seats in the stand to click on, and then you can see a photo of the view from the seat.

It looks to me like the additional seats are in the (uncovered) Brian Moore stand. Think you should be fine. I’d actually collected mine but got half way to London this morning before realising i’d left it at home. Spoke to their ticket office and they’ve said they should be able to reissue me a ticket at the office tomorrow.

I should really read the whole page on COWS in future and not just stop at "... available directly from ..."!

Going off latest DC interview, Sarcevic out for 3 weeks minimum, sounds like his season is done really bar possibly play offs (my thoughts- not DC's words). Even then I don't see him starting unless he had to, he's just not been at it this season and injuries are catching him up with him. He's been very unreliable all season sadly.
Luckily Camps is back so probably the same 18 as the Easter games but with Camps in for Sarcevic bar anything else unforseen.
Be interesting to see if it's the same 11. There's a few changes that could be made to freshen up and/or throw Gillingham. Our change certainly threw Sutton on Friday.

He's played wing back or whatever position it's called these days since he joined us, he was leading assist provider last season so it's not as if he's only just been told to start getting forward. It's not about him not getting forward, it's about which spaces he occupies in certain phases of play. Which results in Hussey moving into space he's in which doesn't happen when Hippo is at LWB. I’ve not seen them occupying the same space often just Rydel in space and Hussey not playing the ball.

His recent cameos have been dire and he seemed to be getting them based on reputation.

IMO that’s a remarkably negative set of takes on a player who, though he’s up and down (like most attackers) always puts in a shift, provides more unexpected spark than anyone else in the squad, and does a cracking job for us in two positions. And who we got on a free. For me, we’re usually better with Hippo in the team than without him. And I think he tends to help Rydel play better too, when he starts in midfield, by drifting left and taking a defender away from Rydel.

Just under 2 hour drive for me from Sudbury, Suffolk. Better still, the missus is going shopping in Gillingham and driving home 🍺 🍻
