No one stands a chance when they come on after the Foo Fighters. Without doubt the greatest band on the planet right now. All I can say is someone must have been chopping onions while My Hero was playing!

Were brilliant at OT the other week. Not great tonight but then he’s been ill all week. Still find it funny that people expect them to be singing about chasing girls, takeaways and nights out around Sheffield when they’re 20 years older and living in America. I suppose that’s the catch when you’re famous for hits about chasing girls, takeaways and nights out around Sheffield, eh? Tonight was the equivalent of Tap’s jazz odyssey IMHO. They need to decide whether they want to cash in on what used to be, or head off in their “new direction”. Have you listened to them since the first album…? they’re so much more than that and always have been. Every album they’ve literally evolved into something new. So that argument doesn’t stack up. It’s always a new direction with them. I’m not a massive fan of the last two albums, AM is my fave but Body Paint sounded incredible tonight and a few weeks ago at OT.

I get that, but have they hit the target since? I’m not so sure. It was like going to an 80s retro festival and sitting through Tom Bailey’s newer stuff IMO. Clearly I need to open my mind…

It was like listening to a poor tribute band trying to be the Arctic Monkeys. I could have put a set list together that would have blown away what they did tonight. Sorry but it was just pretentious and boring.

But if you were expecting them to just play stuff off the first couple of albums and how they did them back then, you were always going to be disappointed. They’ve not done them like that for a decade or so.

I get that bands expriment and try to be ground breaking and probably hate playing the same oldstuff over and over. See Kevin Rowlands for that, refuses to play anything resembling a hit but we cant estimate how groundbreaking "Whatever" was, utterly fantastic album after years of dross, SAW to britpop back to tepid easy listening. The AMs grabbed me by the balls and want to go to gigs, festivals, stalk rock stars again.. oops Last night, no idea. Elvis on the bog maybe?

They should disband - break up and go and do something they want to do and not be forced to phone it in for semi-fans who just going with their mates

I’ve always loved GnR but that was absolutely painful last night, it’s time for them to either bit the bullet and do a new album or just knock it on the head, Axl has been sketchy sounding for years but it’s getting worse and the rest of them look bored, I did catch up on the Foos though and they were superb.
