Blossoms and Astley, bizzare but uncomfortably compelling I’m sure I heard they backed Mel C as well?

Brandon Flowers guests,, featuring Jurgen Klopp's teeth. And I have to say Sir EJ is giving a top performance.

Who’s this Trump supporter up on stage with him just now? Brandon Flowers, apparently.

Why does Josh Homme in the genteel English countryside wanna f*ck some motherf*cking shit up? Is he angry about something?

His voice has never been his biggest asset though and it's obviously deteriorated with age and the nodules operation he had. It's all about the show with him and I thought it was one of the best ever.

I understand the point you're making voices change with age and some adapt in a good way like Johnny Cash and the best I ever saw was Leonard Cohen at the age of 78, Cat Stevens was another good example yesterday while Debbie Harry struggled, Sir Elton has recorded some wonderful songs and yesterday he played well and his energy was impressive but he now just shouts every song, I really didn't enjoy it and I wanted to.

Favourite gigs of the weekend - Working Mens Club (particularly the lead singer, pupils like dinner plates, pilling his tits off!), The Lathums, The Big Moon, Editors, Texas and the Manics. The Foos were okay and although I'm not usually fond of GNRs macho, cocaine-rock, I thought they were pretty good. Blondie and Candi Staton were hit and miss. Also a special mention to cheese-tastic Rick Astley and the 100 mph, 00s Europop-esque stuff by Becky Hill, not usually my bag, well not since my chemically assisted 20s anyway, but it looked a lot of fun!

Got back home a couple of hours a go and have to say being the crowd for the Elton set was pretty special. Thought his voice was good although I was fearing it would be like Blondie, who for the most part couldn't hear. Made a half arsed attempt to go and see Arctic Monkeys but gave up because of the crowds approaching the Pyramid Stage. Sounded like I didn't miss much according to the others in my group who went, and I'm not a huge fan anyway.
As above Becky Hill was great, as was two hours of Craig Charles playing funky remixes of classics in the blazing sun.
Saw a green 93/94 away County shirt being worn from afar which looked on point. I repped this years Argentina kit which got a fair few compliments, as well as someone shouting/singing "you're not shit anymore" at me - which I'll take.

I'm a big fan of Charles' Saturday night funk and soul show on 6 music so was hoping to catch his set on Saturday morning/afternoon but didn't manage to in the end.

Well I'm off to see Miki Berenyi (Lush) tomorrow and just got tickets for Therapy? and Sleeper later in the year. Also got Wonderstuff later on as well. Hoping to discover some new stuff a Slam Dunk in a couple of weeks and 2000 Trees in the summer. Slow Crush (kinda shoegaze) and Marisa and the Moths (more standard indie/rock but cracking voice) we both a great find at Trees last year. That first paragraph has just sent me back to the common room at Ashton 6th Form between 1995 and 1997!
