'Ash Palmer is finishing the game as a centre forward' Nice one, Steve. Tactical genius more like! We scored after that! "The sheer presence of Palmer caused all sorts of confusion"Just think of how many we could have scored if he started up front?!?!?! Then brought on Ben in the "David James role" alongside him.

Really bizarre considering they've only given us less than half the stand and the 1,976 allocation was "initial". Also plenty of time til the day of the match. Can't imagine it's because they've sold out across the rest of the stadium and are splitting the stand for Home/Away. This or are we reaping the "rewards" of limiting our away allocations to the bare minimum to maximise home sales? (Not saying our approach is incorrect, just you can't complain when faced with the reverse). Of course we can they've got a massive stadium we haven't.

We've not been limiting away allocations because we've been saying "we don't like away fans, 900 tickets is your lot, up yours". We've been doing it because we've been selling out more or less to home fans. I don't mind clubs limiting away allocations if they pretty much sell out to home fans, it might be an annoyance but that's life, Wrexham do it for example. But clubs doing it when there's plenty of more space in the ground for home and away fans just strikes me as petty, and just cause for complaint.

I was debating driving to Nottingham for this but I guess they've made the decision for me.

Had assumed they were looking to sell out the rest.

Yes, and when fans get there and see wide open spaces after the sold out signs are published and realise they could have sold more. Then the other gripe that those empty seats could have been used for fans who prefer a bit of space around them rather than being huddled together in a standing mass.

No direct trains from Stockport to Nottingham and a rail replacement bus to Sheffield. I think you can go via Stoke rather than Sheffield it's about an hour and half direct from Stoke, most tickets say any permitted route so if the regular line is out of action surely it's permitted.

Stoke is stll a rail replacement bus I think, Vicar. Engineering works between Stafford and Stockport.

So you have to get to Blythe Bridge before getting on a train and then do the same coming back. A complete faff. Car it is.

Wouldn't you think that if there are two routes available they'd have the nouse to leave one open and maybe do the work at different times.

I hope we have a good plan for defending Jodi Jones - which we managed well enough in the home game to be fair - but currently don't have a recognised RB. 4 assists for him today. All almost identical, finding some space on the left and whipping a beautiful low ball in that no man's land between keeper and defence. Got to be impressed by the commitment to get bodies in the box and on the end of them (which we don't do enough) but the third is definitely a handball. Grimsby just couldn't handle him then there's a bit of class from McGoldrick. Combination of dodgy defending and some good finishing for Grimsby. www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/13047770/grimsby-5-5-notts-county-league-two-highlightsEdit - Just checked and that's 15 league assists for him this season almost double the next best (Kemp and Crowley, also of Notts, on 8). 20 goals for Langstaff, 11 for McGoldrick. Their frontline really is absolutely class. 112 goals (60 for; 52 against) in 27 games for Notts, over 4 a game - this could be a high scoring affair!
