What line-up are you playing at Crawley, based on last night then? Though usually a fan of the diamond, I'd be tempted by a 4-3-3 to try and add a bit more pace and width, given Richards' performance.
Hinchliffe Kane-Horsfall-Pye-Bristow/Touray (depending on the shoulder scan) Camps Sarcevic-Hippolyte Richards-Madden-Tanto
Could also be persuaded by going for a diamond, with Evans in there and perhaps Madden rested. Can also see a case for Wootton in the middle of that front three, depending on how Crawley set up.

I don't know why we try to play the hood ball stuff. It never works and we play our best football when it's on the floor. Is it just the easy option because Wootton is on the pitch No matter what DC says i think we,d have won the game if Wootton wasn,t playing. First we,d not have gone long as much and secondly i have never seen him and Tanto playing well together. As for their first goal being a top strike for me i have never seen a ball swerve as late before that and he,ll never do it again. Didn,t think the ref had too bad a game but it might have been better especially for us if he had got his cards out earlier. Doubt they,d have finished with 11 on the pitch. Again we have seen us having a poor first half and improving in the second especially that 25 minute spell at the start. Its rare indeed to see us having 2 good halfs of football. Apart from that 25 minute spell on top of recent games i just hope that the safety first approach we seem to be using does not bite us in the backside in the end. Kane certainly looks an improvement on cass and richards proved he should have got more minutes on the pitch than he was getting. It might of looked different on tv but in the ground the referee was about as bad as I've ever seen & that was the general consensus of most people I spoke to on the way out. He fell for Salford's shithousery time & time again to the point that it actually became comical. Seen people saying the pitch was a disgrace, poor excuse in my book, it wasn't that bad. Certainly not of the same quality as E.P. but it was perfectly playable. We were just absolutely dire in that 1st half, came out lacking energy, got bullied by Salford & sucked into a game of hoofball far too easily. 2nd half we actually started to play a bit of football & Salford looked like they were shitting themselves, for a period after the equaliser it looked like we'd go on to snatch a winner but the ref succumbed too easily to Salford's stalling tactics & eventually we lost the momentum we'd built up. A point from being 2-0 down felt like a win but the question has to be asked why we didn't start the 1st half like we started the 2nd? I Thought Tanto was immense last night worked his socks off & Salford looked terrified of him in that 2nd half. Good to see Rico Richards get a decent spell, he's very raw but has got energy & an unpredictability that defenders won't like, we need to use him more in the run in. I never want to see Elliot Watt in a County shirt. Overrated & a snidey little play acting so & so. Hopefully Salford offer him a new contract & he spends another few seasons playing in front of pitiful support in a tin shed.

Smith is a stump and we played right in to his hands first half. Same for our attacking play, just hoofing it up to Wootton who I thought had another poor game. Soon as we started playing it on the deck we get 2 goals - not really rocket science. I'd have taken the result at HT but another 2 points dropped against a crap side. Its been a poor few weeks as we enter a very tough week. Whenever Wootton is missing & we have to play it on the deck, we look a different team. Is it my imagination, or does Sarce seem more prominent when Wootton isn't in the team ?

I'm going to brave watching the 2nd half at lunch time, fair play to those who could cope watching live on TV.

In an ideal scenario we could get a lead in this one then rest a few ahead of MK, but we don't look like doing that at the moment.

That isn't to say they weren't doing the same but the ref gave fouls both ways

You could have hit on something there as he never seemed able to get into the game last night. Still feel Tanto looks even better without Wootton being in the side. Its no disrespect to Wootton as other players in the past have played better with others in the side for some reasons.

I felt not having Wootton last season cost us the top 3, so I do like him but I must admit he hasnt seemed the same player since and although having Barry massively helped, we have played much better football this season when he isn't in the starting 11. I don't see that he will make the step up to Lg1 IMO.

When he was walking off the pitch after treatment you could see him turn and mouth something at our fans, sure it will all be forgiven if he signs in the summer but for now.... Watt is an anagram

He seemed to want to allow the game to flow especially in the first half where he ignored a lot more than he should. The game was just one foul away from a mass handbags situation but the ref got away with it. It was a poor standard of football most of the time but would it have improved if he had blown up for everything going on. Saying that a few early yellow cards might have helped him and the game.

Wootton does this backing into defenders & falling over thing far too often. Sometimes he's pulled but a lot of the time he does it of his own accord. He did have a better 2nd half last night when he started to play a bit & started knocking things on for Tanto but seeing as we're supposedly a crossing side & he's our big target man he has very little presence in the oppositions box. He's not looked the same player at all since coming back from his latest injury. I like the lad & want him do well but we need a bit more out of him, maybe he needs a goal to lift his confidence but for some reason he hasn't got himself in scoring positions for quite a while now.

Think the problem with the ref was the lack of consistency. Sometimes he was happy to let Horsfall / Smith wrestle, other times he'd blow the whistle for what looked like fairly innocuous stuff. Admittedly I haven't seen the replays, but it felt like lots of 50/50s in the ground, the sort of thing where most refs favour the defender, but he seemed to give a bit more to the attacker than usual. That played in their favour first half as we were appalling and they were doing most of the attacking, but I did think the free kick that led to their second goal was one of the clearer fouls on Smith.

A word on Tanto. There was a suggestion he wasn’t ready for leading the line for the whole season but he’s now on 19 and surely on target for the benchmark 20 all good strikers target, never gives up and showed great strength and composure for his goal last night, could easily have gone down. Not the finished article yet but been a great season for him.

I'm just not really seeing what Wootton's USP is. He can be OK in a few areas and when he's OK in 3 or 4 areas he can have a decent enough game.
He's 6/10 for goalscoring, 6/10 in the air, 4/10 for movement, 7/10 for on the floor link up, 4/10 for pace, 6/10 for physicality.
He's a decent player at League Two to be be part of 4 strikers on rotation. I can' see him troubling League One, sadly.
