I wouldn't have had him MOTM, but the pass for Tanto's goal was a reminder of the vision and technique that can be precious in tight games. And then of course there is the small matter of the 96th minute volleyed winner in the game before. I'd say he's made more than a strong case for a starting place. Woots made the pass for Tanto's goal. And the winner against Newport was in the 94th minute. Personally, I think I'd start with Richards and Tanto tonight. Go for it with pace and have the experience as back up on the bench. Fair enough- literally no idea why I thought it was Madden. Going off re-watching on the highlights as well- not as if I'd just mistaken the identity from the stands. Can see the benefits of a start for Richards for sure. Seems a while since we were talking about options to choose from, rather than being down to the bare bones. So that's got to be a good thing.

But I'm going to have to admit (having just rewatched the goals on highlights) that I was absolutely mistaking Wootton for Madden on the Tanto goal. Guilty as charged! (Mind you not quite as guilty as that commentator, whoever he is. Not even sure what the hell he was referring to Tanto as- 'Ohfaylay', maybe? Not even close to the correct pronunciation, whatever it was).

Very little idea what's our best XI right now or who DC will name, which is never a good sign. We need to be more positive (easier said than done). We're too safe when we have a point on the board - see any of the last 4 games. I think the manner of the defeats vs Tranmere and Crewe has left some scars (as well as key players missing) and we're not the free-flowing side we once were and looked our best. Not caught up on the thread so no idea if Powell is fit but him, Kane and Richards would be in for me. Players not tainted by our recent dip in form and who will keep it on the ground. Maybe the bench for Powell. I'd go for Ben Kane Horsfall Pye Touray Camps Sarcevic Hippo Richards Madden Tanto Hippo had a poor cameo is Salford but he was too deep and I feel we need someone who can go down the left with Touray in the team. Wouldn't be against Powell or CLE ( who hasn't had much of a look in lately) though with Richards drifting into that space. In the attacking slots I feel we have lots of marginal calls but very few players demanding a start. That is my line up - only doubt may be CLe for Richard’s.

Presumably he realised (or got told) his mistake.

Does anyone know if streaming works on an iPad?
Half-tempted to watch this one if so, despite my pretty abysmal record watching County on a stream/on TV.

Fully agree with the line-up and logic, only minor tweak I'd make would be switching Richards' and Madden's positions. If someone argued for CLE in for Hippo, with Sarcevic switching to the other side, I wouldn't fight them, but would probably go with Hippo for the reasons you outlined.

Just hope DC manages to take the safety first shackles off the team in either the line up, tactics and the formation we use and we start to look like a team bound for promotion and not one that looks to be just stumbling over the line.

A draw wouldn't be a good result tonight IMO. We've won 2 in 8. A proper top 3 team with aspirations goes there tonight, despite their form, and says here's your run over boys you've just bumped into a proper team. Will that happen? I'm not confident. It's weird isn't it. We've been a top 3 team for what feels like most of the season now but the record breaking run aside, it feels like we've been clinging on for dear life for a good part of it as opposed to a side marching confidently to promotion. 'Tis the County way I suppose!

Ifs buts maybes and all that.

If Barry had stayed fit, he wouldn’t have been with us come January. Only have to look at Joe Taylor who got bumped up to a League 1 loan by Luton.

Only have to look at Joe Taylor who got bumped up to a League 1 loan by Luton. we would of been able to keep him because we would of been able to pay more for Barry wage than Colchester and Taylor. We could also say that Barry had found his form that he didn't manage at other clubs and the last time he was recalled from league 2 to go league 1 it didn't work out so it will of been better for him to stay
