Any team that has come and tried to play expansive football has been put to the sword. Teams that come, stay compact and try to frustrate us have success. I was really worried about the Wrexham home game and this has the same vibes. Anybody who opens up against us are playing a dangerous game and I think this lot will. DC, and I cannot be bothered digging as just a feeling, generally wins the big clutch games. He's done it to us with Fylde, Hartlepool and with us against Salford and then Chesterfield away and Torquay at home after we lost to Wrexham in-between. It's on us now as fans to make sure we don't make it shit and edgy. I know we need to be inspired but there is a lot to be said for relaxing the players with a big atmosphere. Maybe we need to look at ourselves a little. From other teams support I hear they are very possession based with a lot of side and back, might be quite dour.

We are where we are on merit, and we are still firmly in the Title race and heavily odds on to claim an automatic spot but…
We have had a few days where all the main challengers have had awful results, there’s bound to be a day when the reverse happens… Saturday has an ominous feel 😬

I normally guard against saying games are must win as it's an overused and generally inaccurate phrase but this game has the feel of a "must win" game.
A win gives us a bit breathing space but another draw or worse a defeat and it feels like we've a lot to do and are relying on a real turnaround of form.
Two away draws in a row against teams in good form is ok but we have to beat our promotion rivals here at home. Huge huge game, atmosphere needs to be electric.

Going forward they are definitely better on the eye than us with more flowing football and quick one twos but I believe they play a midfielder upfront. Midfield is their best area on the pitch with almost all the goals coming from there and the 3 cbs have all scored a couple each (this is a massive thing that hasn't happened for us)

I've watched 3 or 4 of their games recently They're very much hittable on the break, as we like to do, but by the same token they press very well because of it. I think they'll suit our style but same could be said of them to us

We will go into the game knowing what is required as everyone will have played and lost. Then on Good Friday its a guarantee that Wrexham or Mansfield drop points while we play second bottom.

There doesn't seem to be a poll on this thread where I can vote for a draw.......

I'd go for the 3-6-1 formation we used at the end of the National League season.
Two #10's to stop Bate and Payne playing, use Cass and Pye as RCB/LCB and encourage them to drive forward with the ball.
Tanto to use his pace to get down the sides of their back 3, the two #10's to win the second balls.
Loads of energy, a good atmosphere for a change, an early goal then we bring Wootton on towards the end to see us over the line and defend set pieces. 3-0 County.
Ben
Cass - Horsfall - Pye Kane - Camps - - Sarce - Hippo
Evans - Madden

It might not be what we want to hear but I see it as a very much ‘must not lose’ game rather than a must win. It can be called negative and of course we should as a first point of call set up to win, but not losing this is really important. MK win and the point swing is 3+ to them rather than 0 if it’s a draw. It would be another game closer to the end of the season with a reasonably healthy point gap between us and 4th place and that’s the priority right now.

Although I’m slumping into the dismal mindset of never seeing us win again this season, I know that illogical, so if we do somehow win on Saturday, that will be the statement win we need and we’ll go up automatically, I’m certain it will kick start us again.

We've not lost any of our last 5 and they've lost 2 of their last 5, they're not City they're just a pretty good league 2 team, some of the stuff I'm reading makes me wonder why some people bother.
